Hope the kid was lying, because that’s a far bigger problem.

No, the big metal barrels are all being used by the hobos living under the elevated train lines in the city.

Most recent series was last year. I think it was meant to be the last one.

Is this meant to be literal? Please tell me a Confederate Colonel actually got shot by a fucking drummerboy.

Maybe stick to making vanity records for the superfans / vinyl collectors.

Translucent != transparent, but you might be on to something.

Maybe it works better on slim drives with a lower ceiling. Larger drives with space above the disc might allow the laser to refract and generate garbage.

Edit: okay, nevermind, it really is completely transparent. Here’s a picture:

This is actually stupid. At no point during the manufacturing process did anyone mention how CDs work?

The vinyl being transparent is fine, vinyls work by a needle touching the surface, optical discs work by… optics!

The funniest part is you didn’t have to change the dialog.

The Orville season 1, episode 10 "Firestorm"

Written by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong, directed by Brannon Braga.

While navigating a dangerous plasma storm, the Orville takes serious damage. Chief Engineer Newton (Larry Joe Campbell) calls Alara down to Engineering to rescue a trapped crewman. Once down there, Alara freezes when a fireball blocks her path. When she comes to her senses, more debris falls and kills the man before she can reach him. Despite everyone's reassurance and forgiveness, Alara blames herself for his death and decides to quit her position as Chief of Security. Captain Mercer temporarily talks her down and suggests she do some soul searching to understand why she froze at the sight of fire. But just as she starts her investigation, unrealistic yet life-threatening encounters start plaguing her and the rest of the crew.

Goldeneye 007 on the Nintendo 64 has many iconic levels, but not all of them are created equal.

In this video, I rank the levels according to how much I like and dislike them.

(This is a reupload to fix an issue with the original, namely that #3 was missing entirely!)

Star Trek Thye Next Generation's Dr Beverly Crusher is a severely underrated character. Here's a video explaining all the traits that make the character interesting and why Crusher centric episodes are usually good, except of course, Sub-Rosa.

Here, here.

The Orville season 1, episode 9 "Cupid's Dagger"

Written by Liz Heldens, directed by Jamie Babbit.

The Orville is host to two rival species who claim the rights to the same planet. The Union sends an archeologist named Darulio (Rob Lowe) to the Orville to settle the dispute with a forensic analysis of an ancient artifact, not realizing that he has a checkered history with the Captain and Commander. With existing tensions between the two visiting races already running hot, the renewed tensions between Mercer, Grayson and their old acquaintance threaten to shatter an already fragile peace as people on the ship, one by one, start acting out of character.

I didn't see this anywhere.

Harris Yulin, known to Trek fans as Aamin Marritza (aka Gul Darhe'el), died of cardiac arrest on June 10th, 2025 at the age of 87.

Harris is also known for Dynasty, Scarface, Ozark, and the Judge in Ghostbusters II:

"Peace and long life." 🖖
