https://codeberg.org/rimu/pyfedi/issues/890 Yeah I think piefed.ca is just a bit outdated. Things are moving really fast, this was only fixed a couple days ago.

Yes, you can grab the latest apk from any commit to main, for example:

https://github.com/aeharding/voyager/actions/runs/15814901858

Usually you can just use Obtainium with the latest release, but Piefed support hasn't had an actual release yet.

Piefed.ca may be running a slightly outdated build of Piefed, but it's hard to tell because Piefed isn't versioned yet. Do you know an admin you could ask?

Thanks! to everyone that supports Voyager ^^

Don't forget to support your instance/piefed/lemmy/etc too!

Thanks! It wasn't part of the original plan, but I was working on lemmy v1 support and realized there was a lot of breaking changes to the API, and I wanted to support piefed down the road anyways... so perfect storm

So fuck your tunnels, fuck your cars, fuck your rockets, fuck your cars again
You promised you'd be Tesla, but you're just another Edison
'Cause Tesla broke a patent, all you ever broke were hearts
I can't believe you tore humanity apart
With the very same machines that could have been our brand new start

You can interact with Piefed communities/comments/posts/users with Voyager through your Lemmy account. Let me know if you have any issues there, because everything should work great. That's the beauty of federation.

Logging into a Piefed account through Voyager directly is a very separate issue. But I'm working on that. ;)

You can email to [email protected] if you're comfortable with that.

But fyi that's just app settings, and its global for the app. If you want to move over lemmy account settings, you have to do that on the web at https://lemm.ee/settings and https://lemmy.zip/settings :)

Introducing vger.social: A lemmy instance for Voyager supporters 💙

Hey there! Voyager for Lemmy dev here.

As I've been adding more mod and admin feature to Voyager, I've realized that self-hosting my own Lemmy instance may help me improve Lemmy moderation and administration in Voyager.

But I had another thought: Why not open up registration to Voyager supporters? It's a win-win: I get more real-world experience administrating a Lemmy instance, and Voyager supporters get a fun additional benefit!

Introducing https://vger.social :)

Q&A

  • Q: Who can sign up? A: Those who donate any amount on a monthly basis, or those who have contributed a few PRs to Voyager
  • Q: How do you track donations? A: It's the honor system.
  • Q: Will Voyager keep support for other Lemmy instances? A: Of course! Nothing is changing there, vger.social is just another Lemmy instance.
  • Q: Will vger.social work with other Lemmy apps? A: Absolutely! It's just a vanilla Lemmy instance.

Why use vger.social

  • Guaranteed compatibility with Voyager
  • Low user count = snag a better username
  • It's well-federated, including https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/piracy
  • General purpose instance hosted on US East Coast (potentially a pro or con for you, but faster response times for users in USA than lemmy.world)
  • Rules against bigotry, hate and harassment (see sidebar)
  • Hopefully better stability against any future influx of Lemmy users, compared to larger Lemmy instances
  • Star Trek fans welcome I guess lol

Quick disclaimer

While I hope this instance is around for the long run, it is new, and therefore still experimental. If vger.social does shut down, I will give everyone at least 60 days notice.
