I had an outbreak of roach intruders when I first moved into my house, and tried all of that shit before eventually finding success with diatomaceous earth.

After basically agent-orange-ing my house, it seemed like it would be less effective than thoughts and prayers, but I swear to god that stuff could ward off a demon. It's basically powerized razorblades for bugs, and it gets into their joints and dries them out from the inside.

Basically just dusted behind all the appliances/cabinets in my house and they were permanently gone in a few days. It's organic and biodegradable - just don't breathe it in.

They see Biden like he's their dying racist grandpa

His take on this is that 'free speech absolutism' somehow doesn't include harmful speech 'by definition' (he does not bother elaborating on this, it just 'is')

It drives me up a fucking wall when 'centrists' just accept common practice as self-evidently good and literally cannot do the minimum amount of critical thought about why common opinions exist as they do, even if literally fucking dragged to the water's edge and have their head forcibly submerged. The smug debatelord centrist is possibly my least favorite internet personality type - it may even be worse than outright white nationalist groypers.

9 times out of 10, anyone that claims 'in a centrist, everyone else is just crazy and needs to chill' is just lowkey fash and just hasn't admitted it to themselves yet

Saw this developing and i thought 'hmm, I bet this guy is a dick'

There has never been a better opportunity to get in on slop content futures!

I'm not ashamed to admit I needed this explanation, and it's a rare example of the explanation making the joke much funnier

I didn't know Trump was secretly a degrowth practitioner

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 months ago

I can see a future where Trump continues 'joking' about this idea and then his base starts threatening the RNC for saying they aren't letting him run in the primary

There are so many people who would need to go along with this that I have a really hard time imagining it happening. I still think half the reason republicans are so unified behind him is because they think they just have to put up with him for just another 4 years, similar to democrats thinking they 'just' had to beat Trump one more time and problem solved.

With a day and 12 hours of sleep behind me, I can speculate that I spent so long on it because I reverted to an early save about half way through the first act. I realized there were a bunch of companions I never met and I was getting into the main conflict of act 1 with only two in my party (it was just me and shadowheart, ngl that could have done it for me). 183 is my steam number, I imagine the in-game counter is smaller by at least 30 hours

It does such a good job at encouraging you to spend time exploring that if you don't you actually miss out on the main storyline. Me being a casual before-bed gamer did not realize this,

The children, they yearn for the mines

I would make a joke about how long the game took me to finish but after staying up all night because I thought I would 'just' get the last stone and finish the game before bed real quick I am officially phoning it in for the rest of the day

Not recent but he was pretty good in Veep

Who the fuck greenlit this shit? What is even the point of it?

Honestly, just fuck everything about this. Nobody wants to use their shit site anymore so they just invented fake people to prop it up?

Jesus just let me off this fuxking ride.

I feel like I don't hear much internal critique about China from the ML side of things - is this more of a 'critical support' posture or are people just generally more optimistic about long-term socialization of their market?

edit: if there are more reading materials that discuss this topic in-depth, I am very interested in recommendations

Just the title. I've been pulling some crazy all-nighters and I'm absolutely exhausted, and I'm remembering a time when I could comfortably say "fuck off" without any mixed feelings. Now I feel some perverse responsibility to kill myself for our project and I kind of hate myself for it.

I'm embarrassed by the number of award-winning games I have unfinished on my hard drive, but every time I fire them up I think "i'm not enjoying this".

Am I doing it wrong? Should I be mainlining my ADHD meds before trying to play?

My ADHD demands a low-level background stimulation in order for me to focus, so I will listen to audiobooks as I work, and oh-boy did my book interrupt my focus today.

I'm only halfway through so I don't think it could be considered a spoiler, but:

!spoiler spoiler there's a part where one of the characters is unexpectedly stabbed by a tentacle while studying a seemingly harmless alien species (not the kind of shokushu zeme i'm into personally) and is infected with a foreign organic organism. The guy almost dies from it, but they discover that the organism found a way into his brain and has literally replaced his corpus callosum. The next chapter from his perspective slowly starts replacing first-person pronouns with 'we' and 'us', and then he has a tense confrontation with his crew member that end with him/them sticking a syringe through his tear duct and into his brain, and attempting to inject the crew mate with the parasite!<

There's no reason for me to share this except it has clearly disturbed me and when I tried telling my partner about it they weren't thrilled with my trauma dump.

I guess let this be a warning about this book: the first one of the series is pretty chill but this one really sneaks up to you with the body horror.

My curiosity is pulling me back in wish me luck

Edit: oh my god it gets worse, but it's over now

Carry on
