Maybe it's back down to "normal" inflation rates... But Kamala should have come out swinging to raise minimum wage to $25/hr, tie it to inflation, and mandating everyone get a 40% raise to counter the 40% inflation we've had since the last time minimum wage was raised. Something along those lines... As one thing in a long list of things she should have done... Sure it might have cost her the (checks notes) zero votes she was able to scrape off Trump's boots, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

Maybe if Trump starts executing them, and shit becomes win or die for them like it is for a lot of people, then maybe they'll start thinking about how to win at all costs (like listening to what people actually want) instead of "we want to win, but only as long as it doesn't adversely affect our donor daddies"

I want to be done with car shaped cars... I want a self driving room to show up...I want to say "send me a living room/bedroom/office/whatever," and have a room shaped vehicle show up to get me. I want that vehicle to drive me to the nearest train tracks and hop on the tracks itself and then zoom me to the nearest hyper loop and jump itself on that to zip me across the country in an hour... Join up with other "rooms" as you go to create a typical looking train

You see... The Dems did that too... What was really needed wasn't "well you should vote", it should have been, "what would it take for you to vote"... And then fucking do it

Imagine if the election had been between Cheney and Trump... Would you have bothered to show up? I wouldn't have. I'm not saying Kamala is actually as bad as Cheney (who I consider to be the most evil human on earth) but for young people barely paying attention, or paying a lot of attention to the whole getting arrested for protesting genocide thing, they might not have seen much difference and felt turned off by the whole thing, so didn't show up.

The question is, why would 10 million Biden voters, not show up this time? And I think the answer is, no one gave them a good enough reason to... And that's on the Dems who should have been figuring out what those people want and promising to fight for it instead of figuring out what maga wants and fighting for that

The one thing Trump and Bernie had in common was they both started by recognizing and validating people's feeling that shit is fucked up, and saying they were going to change things for the better... One was a lying conman, but most people aren't trying to get that far into the weeds

This is basically the only thing they tried... You're saying they should have just tried harder at what they were already doing... In reality they needed an entirely different approach

Fear and hate (of Trump) was all the Dems were selling too... They literally ran (again) on a platform of "at least we're not him" and that's about it... But the Dems will never outsell Republicans on fear and hate, and they shouldn't even try because the people who might vote for them aren't looking for fear and hate

Trump doesn't need to sell a vision of anything... He has almost no thoughts of his own except loving being worshipped... Maga TELLS HIM what he's going to support, and then he fucking supports it (so they'll worship him)... Dems should try this whole "support what the people who might vote for you tell you to support" thing
