Thank you for doing this, can I ask what's the difference between a FOSAI model and other llama2 model that people are creating?

[–] [email protected] 16 points 2 years ago

Not that instance, but Lemmy is missing a lot of moderation and federation tools. Right now you only have sledgehammers to deal with tiny nails, in regards to tooling.

I'm planning on bringing a spare phone only on my trips to the US.

Apologies, but what is NCMEC? I'll have a look to see what we can implement.

Yes, good observation. I'm sure she's safe and it's a windy day.

Actually you weren't wrong. If you're a Lemmy.world user your images are stored at Lemmy.world

I recently build a PC and this is what I learned:

  1. Modern CPUs get crazy hot. AIO water cooling could make sense depending on what CPU you use
  2. GPUs are expensive but higher end GPUs will make the build last longer. Nvidia is a must for anything related to AI.
  3. NVME storage is a no brainer option for a new build
  4. Make sure the motherboard supports the RAM or doesn't throttle it
  5. If you have the space a larger case will be better for cooling an upgrades. GPUs get crazy large.

Overall go to pcpartpicker and look at what people have build with your choice of GPU / CPU.

Well, I'd say there's a time for everything. Images are absolutely amazing, but a well written story can make me cum buckets, especially because it's able to sustain arousal for minutes or even hours depending on length.

Thank you for the offer. It's super appreciated. Right now I don't think it's necessary, but who knows what the future of the internet holds. If you have any idea or suggestion yourself, don't hesitate in letting me know!

Hello! Apologies for not seeing this earlier.

In case anyone's wondering my position on this matter, it's this:

  • There is 0.00% chance that yiffit.net or packmates.org will implement any sort of ID verification system. I'd rather host the site in any other different jurisdiction than to jeopardize the privacy of our users or contribute to a version of the internet that's riddled with surveillance nightmares.

In the worst case scenario the site would even change owners (if my physical jurisdiction played a role in the matter) or I'd find any other way. This is not something I'm worried about since we have no shareholders, no need to be profitable in any way, and don't report to anyone but to ourselves.

Furthermore, if the internet continues going down such a path and there is a legal way to help people circumvent draconian restrictions by offering services such as a VPN, I would definitely look into hosting such a service. If there's anything I'm afraid of, it's the amount of time and effort I know I'm capable of recklessly sinking into privacy-oriented projects just to spite anti-queer, authoritarian and surveillance-state political initiatives :P

So, rest assured that Yiffit and Packmates will not make such ID a verification ever a requirement and I'd even encourage you to find ways to avoid any sites that make such requirements.

PS. We're now hosted in Germany by the way!

For example, does a 13B parameter model at 2_K quantiation perform worse than a 7B parameter model at 8bit or 16bit?

Hello! This will be the first of our weekly discussions. This thread will be pinned in the local timeline all week long and I hope that everyone feels encouraged to voice their opinion.

This thread will be locked after a week. Make sure to join the discussion in time!

This weeks topic is: AI "art" and its impact on the furry fandom and artists.

Here are some guideline questions that you can use:

  • What are your opinions on AI generated text and images?
  • Should furry spaces allow AI generated images?
  • What do you think are the use cases for these tools?
  • What long-term impact do you believe it will have on the fandom and the fandom's artists?

Hello everyone!

First of all apologies for not having followed through with some ideas that I've had recently. I've found myself with less time than usual and been away for a while as well.

In the meantime I wanted to ask you what topics that are furry or furry related would you see yourselves discussing or debating?

I know that one of the rules of Yiffit is to avoid drama, but if we find certain debate/discussion topics and create the necessary environment to discuss them in a healthy way this might be something we could do.

In my case for example, a topic that always pops up on twitter is the debate around feral nsfw content. I won't get into details since this is not the post to do so, but I'm leaving it here as a potential topic for future more organized debates and discussions.

Please feel free to share or mention the topics that are furry or furry adjacent about which you have strong feelings and which you see yourself discussing in we found a proper way to do so. Feel also free to agree with other people in the comments as in "yes, I'd like to see this topic discussed as well".

The goal is to find topics we would love to discuss without necessarily opening pandora's box in this thread itself.

Thank you <3 I hope I don't come off as too cautious. I'm just unsure about what topics will be suggested and want to preempt a major flame war in the comments :P

Note:

topics don't need to be controversial at all. You can propose talking about everyone's favorite fursuit artists. The cautious approach I took here is just in case something controversial comes up.
