They should have asked Nick Mullen for a counter quote about Jake.

I kind of recall a blog entry from Nick about some poster named GameMasterAnthony or something or the other, about him being the same as this person but for the grace of God had turned out differently. I don't like Cumtown but Nick seems like a person with real and lived experiences. Even Stavros, whose persona seemed to be memery from the Cumtown clips I've seen, made it to Netflix, a movie deal, and a successful comedy career.

The Chapo hosts - save for Matt - kind of seemed to be lottery winners who just lucked into their success and fortune and have ceased to grow as people as a consequence of their fame and profit. Their reference about the "failson" encapsulates their status as hosts. Just frozen... in Arrested Development.

I'm kind of amazed at Chapo's success, but it is very much a right-place right time sort of success given its origin in 2016 as a counter-point to Hilary Clinton, the DNC, and finding irreverent catharsis against the Democrats and the state of the country since that point. Still, while they were impressive in getting excellent celebrity guests, journalists, and colleagues, I can't ever say they were the bastion of left-liberal anti-DNC thought. Their parity with CumTown is probably the best descriptor. I do respect them, even if I do not revere or really listen to them anymore.

Covid and Bernie's loss really did defeat them. I do think Matt, Will, and Chris are decent people, and the show gave us Blowback and Brendan James.

I never understood Felix's appeal. Virgil was funnier from earlier episodes. Aside from Felix being a man child who buys swords, I also think it might be his literal voice and speech mannerisms that grates me so, (like George Costanza's audiobook voice if you get that reference) that really seems like a resigned teenager stuck in a body of a man in his now mid 30s. He actively ruins the podcast for me since his man-child breakdown in 2020 Covid.

Probably to cope with Israel and the US's resiliency in sustaining and advancing their geopolitical goals.

Especially when the Israeli govt made their intent of extermination clear days, and weeks, and months after Oct 7 and up until Natanyahu basically told them to stfu about it.

I skipped to 25:00 ish. He rips into Destiny and Destiny is being completely dishonest regarding Israel-Palestine; quite sickening.

Adam looked infuriated to do the whole thing.

first-time Went through this as millenials in the early/mid/late 10s too.

The caveat here is that once you bounce back in your late 20s and early 30s, when you have financial stability and disposable income, how much the allure of liberalism will stick with you even as your mind and experience know that capitalism is inherently exploitative and destructive on an individual and planetary scale.

That post was so bizarre.

ZL gave the impression that she spearheaded this controversy of forcing the comm changes, insulting and humiliating the entire user base, and then hid behind Carcosa.

I remember regular implosions back when I was in a Runescape clan a long time ago. flattened-bernie

The leadership team were 17-20 year olds. At a young age, and paraphrasing Rick & Morty's Beth, a 17 year old to a 14 year old is like an 18 year old to a 30 year old. These people were our progenitors, leaders, friends, guidance counselors, and tutors.

The clan fell apart - still extant in Runescape from what I remember, though greatly diminished - several times. From infighting, to "corruption", to personal relationships falling out, to officer bloat, etc etc. Dynamics of different people converging and not having the maturity and patience to form a coherent and reliable leadership is perfectly reasonable for teenagers.

Like those Runescape clan officers, admins and moderators are all volunteers here. Unlike that Runescape clan, I trust most of the users are adults here.

Your Answer doesn't have to be that criteria, but I'm wondering how your journey began or is going. Some people begin their lives early or late, and others shift in the middle to a new career.

While I am essentially asking for advice - I currently have a routine and path which I am looking for alternatives for - I am also just curious to see how others can, are, or have turned their lives in another direction.
