Self hosting it yourself is easy, but if you get a number from JMP.chat then you can request a free Snicket instance if you're wanting someone else to host it. I had been doing that for awhile and hosting my own server for me and my friends. I recently cancelled JMP chat after several years and just use my self hosted instance now.
