You're looking for the heightened emotional sensitivity that alcohol can bring; weed won't do that exactly (though it has value, both used regularly or even as an actual psych/entheogen - strong edibles when your tolerance is down along with meditation and good music is an actual trip)

Try weed then drinking a very small amount of alcohol, like one beer

Also, do pauses without any chemicals comrade heart-sickle

Doing it too much can fuck up your mental health in subtle ways

I saw a huge spider on the balcony moving freakishly fast and now I can't see where it is and I'm fucking frightened to go out for a smoke

I don't know but OP's comments history is funny, it's a lot of our own emojis but displayed like they appear on other instances: huge

Hergé is problematic, yeah. He was once paid quite a bit of money to draw/write a propaganda piece for a far-right newspaper in Belgium, too, Tintin in the Land of the Soviets (it's awful, though not quite as awful as the Congo one - the only thing that one has going for it is the naked version for a quick smirk I guess, and obviously that was not from Hergé)

I've only ever made seitan from powdered gluten (which is very convenient) but tomorrow's the day, I'm gonna try this

I want to see if there is a discernible difference either in taste or in texture

Oooh I just rewatched the scene in question and you're right; on both counts, too (the latter bothers me even more than the phone calls, because the former at least is like 20 seconds). And yeah, for the times I think it was ahead despite problematic moments

Both the music and the aesthetics of that movie are great (including the clueless "hacking" visualizations, reminded me of Gibson's books)

It's been a while since I've seen it, what was the transphobic scene ? mostly I remember like half the good guys being, indeed, surprisingly queer coded for the times

You don't need to be rich to go to your local theater. Theater can be great

As our home screens got bigger and the price got higher and the experience worse I stopped going to the movies entirely; but theater I do still go a few times a year

They try in mine too; then they encounter the psycho cat knifecat

I try to save them and bring them outside before he slaughters them when I can

This arctic melting season has been weird as hell, too

Below all expectations basically all summer and then mayhem those past two weeks - went from a "not that bad" year to "third lowest on record" (and possibly second, because it's September 18th and it's still melting yet)

With El Niño picking up, 2024 will most likely be hell
