J'ai pas de lunettes, donc j'ai pas trop idée pour le côté entretien, mais pour le côté renouvellement, 5 ans c'est un rythme que j'observe pas mal autour de moi, surtout pour les gens qui portent leur lunettes en permanence

Pour les gens qui portent des lunettes, combien de temps les gardez-vous en général? Est-il normal que des rayures apparaissent après 5 ans?

Y'all seem to think that those people only exist in one random Lemmy community and never use anything else.

To use .dll VSTs on Linux with Reaper, i use yabridge. If i understood correctly it mixes the use of the linux .so VST format and Wine to trick the VSTs into thinking they run on Windows. So you can run Reaper outside of Wine, and automatically have access to Windows VSTs (once you setup yabridge properly).
It has some huge limitations (most Waves plugins are a big no, getting Kontakt to work seems to involve black magic way beyond my understanding, etc) but i got some plugins to work very well!
On the safety of Wine, i'm not sure at all. From what i understand of this forum, Wine itself is not really dangerous, but it does not block applications from communicating with Linux filesystem and environment so it's not 100% safe. However you are slightly protected by the niche aspect of Linux, which makes it unlilely for attackers to take time to code a virus that handles Linux way of working. And from my small experience with hacked VSTs on Windows, most werent a threat, especially when i took them from the same hacking team
Hello yall ! I am asking for your opinion on node editing, more precisely on creating straight paths with reroute nodes.
I find the built-in way of creating straight paths with reroute quite weird. If I'm not mistaken, it is :
- Click-drag to create the connection
- Shift + Right-click-drag to create a reroute.
- G and drag to place the reroute (repeat until path is made of 90° angles)
Now when it's time to clean up messy noodles, it makes sense : you don't need the first step and you can join multiple noodles with the Shift + Right-click-drag to go quicker. But when I create straight path from the start, I find it weird to first make the full path and then divide it.
I would have liked a feature to 'extrude' from reroute nodes so I can build the straight path step by step instead, so I made a small script to add this as a shortcut : when i press 'E', it adds a reroute connected to the last reroute/node selected. I'll try to add a gif to show what I mean, and I'll leave the code if anyone wants to try.
My question is : am I alone on this or does it make sense ? Did you too find the way reroute works a bit weird or did it always made perfect sense to you ? Or do you avoid straight paths entirely ? (Or is there some other way to work with reroutes that i'm not aware of ?)

From what i get from this article, this is technically true for one tree, but not for the forest, for which there is a peak in carbon capture at some point (when the canopy closes says the article), and then it can either stabilize either slowly decline. There are other huge advantages to keeping old forests intact though, especially regarding biodiversity.
