Trial by socia media? Fuck outta here.

All these scummy shitbags are certainly guilty, but this needs to be proven.

The motto I get behind is "trust, but verify".

It's payday if a judge in 10 years gives a shit about constitutional violations, or if judges are still non-partisan by then. The dude also looks Latino, so his odds are even worse. I am an outsider looking in, but I wouldn't trust that shit hole country to uphold any sense of the law after what I've seen over the last few weeks. Fuckin' embarrassing mess down there.

Total asshole thing to say on his part. We have down vote buttons for a reason.

I have to say, I'm not sure I agree with your points entirely either. However, I do appreciate you voicing a pretty unpopular opinion, stating your points in a calm manner, and not taking rage bait. Lemmy can often feel like a left wing echo chamber, and it's nice to know I'm not seeing comments from the same 5 people with multiple alt accounts. The fediverse is starting to feel alive.

And then the smart plug begins to time drift....

No big deal, just set the time back to midnight every few days. Problem solved.

I like the line of thinking, but I feel like it would be much easier just switching the stickers on the cartridge lol

As someone who has family who votes in that 40%, I can confirm (anecdotally) that they only care about fiscal policy.

Do you have a point you're trying to make, or are you just airing out some trauma?

I've been in this situation, years ago. Maybe a decade. My ex didn't have a single hobby, and much like what you described, she was the same as yours. I've learned to stay away from potential partners without hobbies. I don't know why, I can't explain it, but there's something there.

My current girlfriend has waaaay too many hobbies, and while it drives me nuts, it makes her happy, which makes me happy.

Anyway, that's my experience, but this isn't about me. I'm just sympathizing with what you're saying. Good luck out there. Things get better, and maybe now you're a little more experienced in what you want and what to look for and what to avoid.

I hate vehicles.

Male deer don't fuck around.

Where I live, this comes as no surprise. I've found rats crawling inside the engine bays of mine and my partner's vehicles the last couple weeks.

Apparently putting a few bounce sheets in the engine bay can deter them. Just remember to keep the sheets away from heat, and don't leave them in there if you go for a drive.

My girlfriend rubbed some cat toys on our cats and put it under her hood for a couple nights. No sign of rats going back in since!

If anyone has any other tips for fending them off, drop it below.

Hi all,

As the title states, I'm interested in making the switch from Windows to Linux. I know absolutely nothing about Linux, other than that fact that there are distros that exist under Linux, and Linux itself isn't an OS, or so I think.

I have 2 laptops and my main home office PC, which I use for my job and gaming.

My plan is to switch one of my laptops to a Linux distro, and test it out. This laptops only purpose is web browsing, so I figure getting Linux set up to do something as simple as opening a browser is something I am capable of.

Down the road, once I've sort of learned on this laptop, I may work my way up to using other distros and dual booting my main PC. Who knows, maybe I'll even switch over completely prior to Windows 11 rolling out.

I've heard getting games to work with Linux can sometimes be a hassle, and can require some fiddling, so I won't be doing gaming on a Linux distro until I feel quite comfortable.

So with the above context, I'm looking for recommendations on a distro I should use, any guides that any of you may have found helpful, and generally any insight on things I may need to be aware of.

I am fairly tech savvy (probably not compared to most of you), and am not afraid of tinkering with things until they work. Any help would be muchly appreciated, and if this isn't the correct place to post, please let me know and point me in the right direction.
