That would be relevant if we were talking about copyright law at all.

I get why lemmy loves jellyfin...but its odd to me that plex is so often preferred over emby. I much prefer the latter for several reasons...but actually working offline out of the box is one of the top.

....are your arms and legs the same length!?

I'm with you. I've had a Spotify sub for more than a decade and have no plans to cancel.

Give me a reasonably priced, accessible way to enjoy the content and I will happily pay for it.

Streaming has become untenable and now it's neither affordable nor convenient to watch what I want to watch. And with how frequently shows and movies bounce around platforms, who knows if the show I want to watch this weekend will be still available on one if the many platforms I've been paying for.

I'm just done with it.

You're misunderstanding how credit cards are very often used.

Just because you pay with a credit card doesn't mean you are 'going into debt'. I pay my credit card off every month. I never accrue interest. But it's 1. Beneficial to my credit score to use it some and 2. I get cash back on some types of items, so it's just beneficial to use my card.

I'm still on an S10. Battery life sucks and the screen has been cracked for years, but she still works just fine. No motivation at all to spend $1k on an 'upgrade'

If this is how you act around other people ... I don't think the problem is other people.

I'm not sure people really understood what bombs were...

Best example off the top off my head. 2 years ago russet potatoes were about $0.75 per pound, last week they were just under $2.00 a pound. Just a little more expensive week by week

But yeah yell me more about those trashy unsustainable spuds.

I can't imagine making a comparison between those two with a straight face. Impressive.
