If the Ukrainians aren't lying about conscription numbers, and we take western reports about Ukrainian troop shortages to be true, then the Ukrainians may have lost a truly enormous number of personnel.

Tempted to agree. NATO has already committed all satellite, communication, ammunition, and equipment surpluses. It doesn't actually have much room for escalation without committing to a full on war with Russia.
Technically-- embassies are only protected from attack by their HOST country.
Russia could target the US, UK, French, and German embassies and state that they were military targets due to being staffed by military and intelligence staff. Those countries didn't condemn the attack against the Iranian consulate in Damascus, therefore Russia could argue, they are seemingly ok with having their embassies treated as military targets by a country they are military attacking with long range missiles.
Russia could call ahead and ensure the embassies are evacuated first.

Changing the name of the comms is an easy decision, but trying to amputate comms that perform a useful function for bonding and cathartic relief is a step too far. We need to face the fact that hexbear as a community isn't especially erudite compared to other leftist spaces - our main aspect is providing comfort and awareness in the face of what is currently a world that stands against us.
