First time I have seen a repost here on lemmy.

I thought food is way cheaper in the US but considering the taxes and tip, the prices seems similar to Europe.

What type of cake are we talking here? Industrial or home baked? Also what size? I am talking about a cake of 6 portion of around 200g.

I was raised poor so even now that I can afford it, I feel something forbidding me from buying cake. That and knowing that I gain weight very easily and it takes me lots of hours to get raid of it.

I was watching the show Good Times about the struggle of poor black family. But after some episodes I felt it wasn't realistic and the family isn't really poor.

Imagine buying 14TB and find out that it is 12TB instead.

Je suis entrain de regarder The Jefferson après avoir fini All in the family. Elles sont devenues mes meilleures sitcoms.

Ça traite des vrais problèmes de la société : le racisme, la pauvreté, les droits des femmes... Etc. Il y avait même un épisode sur un viol. Les auteurs arrive toujours à trouver un moyen pour nous faire rigoler.

Ça change des sitcoms recents qui traite la plupart de temps de dating et des situations bizarres.

Dans certains interviews, le créateur disait que pas mal de truc sont basés sur sa vie réelle où son père était raciste et le traitait de 'meathead', l'insulte populaire dans All in the family.

Pour l'anecdote c'est dans All in the family qu'on entend pour la première fois à la télé la chasse d'eau des toilettes et c'est devenu un running gag. Mais apparemment quelques années avant on a censuré une scène où on voyait WC sur porte dans un autre programme.

People always says AI do create only variations but many successful TV shows are variations. I started watching sitcoms from the 70s and many things were copied/adapted in recent shows.
