- It's more like friendly banter, than me trying to compel anyone to make any "switch" - something everyone in this comment thread keeps assuming, for some reason;
- I posted this ON A LINUX COMMUNITY;
- If you look at the chart instead of dumping gasoline on the admittedly inflammatory title, you may notice that I occasionally boot up Windows, and consequently admit that sometimes you don't have a choice or simply want to avoid the headache;

Someone asked this before, in short it's not BG3's fault. I tried running it through Proton and it ran fine.
Radeon RX 580, or rather two of them: a "default" one, then one I use when running vfio-powered virtual machines or miscellaneous Vulkan projects I play with occasionally.
It doesn't have all the newest features, but I run most games just fine.
That's correct, on X11 Discord works... relatively fine, ot least that used to be the case for me.
More precisely, Discord uses an ancient version of Electron which doesn't support most of Wayland's shenanigans.
I've tried several combinations of versions and sources (at least 5), but there's always something missing.
There's a bunch of other things, like HDR; I don't have a HDR monitor so I can't say what people are missing, but I tried to mess with it in my pet-project game engine and vkSetHdrMetadataEXT
just does not exist at all, and I don't know what library or Vulkan layer could provide it.
It matches with what I've heard around, although apparently KDE supports it now?
It's not much of a problem with BG3, more like a problem with Discord being absolute stinky festering garbage and not playing nice with my window manager at the time (Sway).
Same here, I only had to run BG3 on Windows (in a VM) for very specific reasons tied to my setup.
Does "made a meme and got a bunch of upvotes, but had the meme reposted across Discord then back to Reddit AND Lemmy" count as 15 minutes of fame?
