I think so too. The process of content creation will become more efficient. I hope it will allow companies to try new and weird things with less risk.

404 is still a server response, so I imagine no response at all would be the way to go.

Very much this. A normal user doesn't care about federation and much less wants to spend extra effort to get around it.

I've experienced some lag and unreliability with content from lemmy.ml and lemmy.world. I guess they've grown a bit too fast. I imagine it'll stabilize later as the server owners catch up.

I haven't blocked anything on my instance yet since I haven't encountered that but maybe I should copy sopuli's blocklist.

The "Subscribed" option at https://lemmy.world should be exactly that.

I wonder what he'll come up with to top this one. Blocking is such a fundamental function that I couldn't have thought of removing it if I purposefully tried to destroy the site.
