This is my hesitation about ever living in an apartment. Iโ€™m a light sleeper and neighbours being noisy through paper thin walls would be a nightmare. I think thereโ€™s a desperate need for legislation to set minimum sound proofing standards for apartments. It would make them much more desirable.

Fellow night wakers, I have a question. Sometimes if I wake up in the night and cant go straight back to sleep, Iโ€™ll grab my phone and do mindless things on it until I feel drowsy again. Iโ€™ve always thought this is a bad habit, but is it really? Distracts me and I go back to sleep eventually. I have it in dark mode so minimal bright light. So should I kick the habit? What would be an alternative?

I was a bit shocked recently when I found out a friends 12 year old could barely read, and that according the school and the parents the kid is educationally doing just fine. I mean what!? Thatโ€™s nowhere near fine. How is this good for anyone? The kid has no learning difficulties according to the parents. They are getting him a tutor now. He seems to be of average brightness, so having good reading at 12 should be no problem. Everyone has let the kid down. School and parents both.

If itโ€™s a Myers-Briggs type test, Itโ€™s been debunked as not much better than horoscopes. Vague traits that might seem adaptable to almost anyone, and no correlation to job suitability. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Myers%E2%80%93Briggs_Type_Indicator

I love pan fried dumplings. Have tried cooking at home and they are never as good as the restaurant ones. Have given up, itโ€™s just one of those things that the pros do better. Steamed at home are fine tho.

I have no kids and still struggle to keep the place decent. Mess is so easy to make and cleaning is such a chore. Literally every action to exist makes mess. Eat food, use toilets, walk around, wear clothes etc. Not to mention general stuff and storage and actually doing things and living life. I wonder if people with pristine houses just sit and stare into space most of the time, so no mess is created. The way I see it, if regular cleans are getting done and nothing is unhygienic, good enough. My house is lived in. Itโ€™s reality not instagram.

Good morning! Is this the first wake up in the new place for you? If so, happy new house day!

Seeing that muppet song made me think Iโ€™ve never seen the muppet show properly, only snippets here and there. It feels so familiar because itโ€™s everywhere in pop culture. Looked it up, and itโ€™s on Disney! Have added to my watch list.

Severance spoilerHave had a few days to digest the season finale and I am satisfied it was a good ending. Questions were answered. Lots of unexpected blood. Accidental death of Mr Drummond felt deserved. Iโ€™m not happy about innie Mark leaving Gemma at the door, but the alternative was his death and loosing Helly, so it was inevitable. Michick and marching band rocked.
