Fairfield boathouse could do with a proper deep clean and updated food options. It’s such a beautiful location and has so much potential, but it’s run down, sticky, and seems uncared for. A bit of harmonious modernisation while keeping the vintage vibe would work wonders.

I was just reading about a new law coming in for electric vehicles sold in Aus to have speakers that emit noise so that pedestrians will hear them. Good in theory. The catch is, each car maker can have custom noise, so of course they all want some special unique sound. I am already imagining the cacophony of clashing car noises. Lucky I don’t suffer from sensory issue but this could be a new form of hell for those that do. Oh, and the noise must be between 50-75db.
Shrinkflation really annoys me. I feel so betrayed when I buy something and notice after I open it that it seems less than before? Then not having the previous pack to compare, I wonder am I imagining it? And to add insult they keep the packaging the same size, so we fill up our landfills with unnecessary plastic all in the name of tricking the consumer. I would rather see the price go up so I can see what I’m buying.
Good luck!
They are so cute. It’s so nice to have wildlife around! Is it possible he lost part of his tail? The ones I’ve seen have a tail that narrow to a thinner point. Unless this is a different species. It’s amazing how tiny some of them are.
Happy Birthday! Hope you have a fabulous day!
Happy belated birthday!
I’m waiting for the announcement of 1 millionth percent tariff on China, and for MAGA voters to keep insisting Trump knows exactly what he’s doing and America is now great again. I want to laugh, but am so sad for the Americans who didn’t want this. Another day in the American clown show.
I noticed it too so I topped up even though I had a half tank.
This election campaign will drive me crazy because of the huge number of people who cannot pronounce nuclear. Nukular, nooclearar, nuklah, gnocchi-la, newklrrrr, arrgghhhhhhhh.
Me. Had a terrible nights sleep and am now awake too early. Gonna be a zombie today.
Democracy Stuff: Again today I heard someone say why bother to vote for candidate X because they just send their preferences to candidate Y. This is completely false. Preferences literally mean the numbers you write on the ballot. 1 is your first preference, 2 is your second, etc. If you want to vote for Greens first and Clive Palmer second, as crazy as that seems, you can absolutely do that. No one can override your preferences. It’s possible that the mistaken belief comes from How-to-vote cards, or from parties forming coalitions or alliances in parliament. If you have any young people, new Australians, or just confused voters in your life circle, please help them out to understand the process. I’m not normally political but with the disaster in America, I realise how privileged it is to have a good voting system. But it’s only good if people know how to participate.
