Don’t worry about it. We all have recipe fails. Next attempt will be better. If you’re looking for way to transform tofu to get more protein in diet, I once had some tofu chocolate mousse someone brought to work. It was pretty good. Maybe worth a try?

I don’t know how trustworthy the info is that says there’s enough food. There obviously isn’t, people are starving. I do believe there are probably groups or gangs (hamas included) that may have taken control of some food, intercepting deliveries, and are hoarding it. Because the reality is that in situations of scarcity human behaviour very quickly descends to individualism and violence. This means those who have higher physical strength, weapons, aggression, connections to form a violent group, are going to attempt to acquire and control resources for themselves and their associates. If there was enough food, their hoarding would be pointless, there would be no incentive. The solution to the hoarding and the starvation is easy. More food.

The whole situation is horrific. I understand why they might want to search the ship, eg for weapons, but that shouldn’t affect supply. There’s not enough food getting in and it looks like it’s an intentional genocide attempt by starvation. And the best the rest of the world can do is a couple of limp comments like ‘it’s concerning’ or a slightly braver ‘it’s unacceptable’ or similar words, but zero attempt at action. I was so upset seeing the skeletal kids on tv. Heartbreaking.

Woke after dreaming I was struck by lightning and electrocuted. And look at the clock and it’s only 1am, feels like I’ve been asleep much longer.

I’ve never made cornbread, I think I’ll give it a go.

That teacher needs their degree cancelled. Shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a classroom.

I had no idea there was so much variety in the bay.

Missy Higgins deserved a place, but not top 10 with Scar. The Special Two is a much better song, probably placed about right. The Veronicas shouldn’t be in the list at all.

So much good advice in the comments already given. There’s a difference between feeling like you’re in the wrong body, or just feeling like you don’t align with the current version of gender norms. Eg traditionally the wife would cook all the meals at home, but professional cooks were men. So does cooking make you feminine or masculine? Obviously neither, it’s just a task that has had historical divisions applied to it based on status. The point being; hobbies, interests, clothing preferences (men used to wear frills and lace, dresses, bright colours at various times in history), career interests, liking sports etc etc do not make someone male or female. Miniest is gonna have a lot of things to figure out, and as they grow older it might be they figure out they just don’t like the 2025 version of ‘girly’, or it might be something deeper.

You’re doing an awesome job already thinking through possibilities and having conversations, and being ready with assurances of love. You got this, whatever path it goes down.

I’m so sorry. Losing a beloved pet is heartbreaking, especially if you have to make the decision. Hope you can have a last snuggle before the time comes.

Heavy stuff. Perhaps now that she (they?) said her feelings to the school, she might be comfortable having a chat at home too? I can imagine it’s a tough situation to experience for both of you. I don’t really have much to offer as advice but we’re here for you. Hugs.

This year I grew tomatoes, and found rats are stealing them. I am certain it’s rats because I have seen them. Have tried netting the tomato plants, but rats found ways in. Called an exterminator to bait in the roof and under house. Feel ambivalent about it, because if a predator bird takes an affected rat it may get ill. But I’m located deep in suburbia and have never seen an owl or eagle so I think it’s unlikely. Didn’t work though, still have rats. Have given up on the tomatoes, plants are destroyed. What are your strategies for ridding yourself of ratty pestilences?

Looking for inspiration. Which Australian food sites, bloggers, youtube, social media do you frequent? The places you go for ideas and recipes. I love Nagi (recipe tin eats), and occasionally browse Taste and SBS food. What are some others to look at?
