I swear by terrycloth washcloths for this. Some people like to use fancy scrubs but the humble washcloth is so much more cost-effective.

I just picked it up and haven't gotten very far in at all so I can't really make any judgement in terms of how rewarding it actually is. I'm mostly in it because the combat is kinda cool and, call me sick but I really want to find out just how depraved the game gets. It's very CW: everything grimdark fantasy with sex, violence, dismemberment, body horror, or some fusion thereof so its not for everyone. If you do play it I reccomend giving the starter guide on steam a read, it got me from dying in three minutes to dying in ten minutes lol.

I was getting my ass beat by Fear & Hunger earlier, might get back to that this evening. It's really interesting so far even if the learning curve is a bit too steep for my liking.

Im hungry. Im going to make a wrap with lots and lots of greens. Unfortunately I am out of banana peppers and now my life is truly tragic. I am doing my part to bump the megathread numbers up by posting about nothing.

I kept the first bottle of Spiro I ever got and used it to hold my nighttime meds for when I was working or out and about, I eventually replaced it with the first bottle of estrogen that had my new name on it. I wrapped them both in packing tape so that the label could be preserved. I still have the first girl clothes I ever bought for myself (Madoka magica tshirt from 2014, way before I even knew I was a girl). I have a day zero picture of myself that looks like the picture of Dorian Grey to me now, I like to show it to girls who feel frustrated with their results after a short time on HRT and go "so this was me not even four years ago, I hope this is encouraging."

I'm happy with the number of momentos I kept, it's nice to remember but there's a lot I'd rather forget.

The "don't shave before" thing is kinda a myth? As long as you have active follicles the laser is going to do its job, you still should be careful about shaving just before treatment because having irritated skin will make the laserpain worse. That being said I've come in unshaved to make addressing problem spots a little easier.

Hey so first off, congrats! Changing your name can be an intimidating process even at the best of times and I'm proud of you for getting started!

Now some tips:

  • Third party certified birth certificates are a scam, 100%, a scam. Your state board of vital records will have them available cheaper, and sometimes those certified copies are the only "real" ones.

  • You do not have to navigate this alone and there are organizations that exist to help you, I found this page that might point you in the right direction. LGBT Law on the Texas State Law Library Website

  • I am not a lawyer but... You probably don't need to worry about your choice of name impacting your chances of getting it approved, AFAIK the courts primary concern with name changes are fraudsters and people on the run from debt collectors. Some courts view the name change laws in the US as clunky and outdated and won't require you to have a day in court or take out a classified ad in the newspaper. Instead they would just push it through, this varies from place to place but you might get lucky in this regard.

  • I would recommend that you get at least 5 or so certified copies of the court order when you get it. Most offices won't give back any of the documents you gave them and having spares is always handy for any unforeseen situations where it may be needed.

  • If you fill out a form digitally make sure that you save it some place where you can retrieve it later. These offices are run by people and sometimes things get lost along the way.

  • No one looks good in their ID photos but legit one of my biggest regrets about the whole process was how I didn't prepare for my drivers license photo. Looking at it makes me feel yucky ._.

Good Luck!
