The election is also in September. I wonder how that factors into things?

The biggest and most influential union in Norway just declared they're in support of an economic boycott of Israel:

There were several levels to the boycott of Israel when the LO [Norway's biggest union] Congress voted today.

The majority resolution on a boycott of Israel prevailed.

It reads as follows:

"If the occupation does not end by September 2025, as the UN General Assembly has demanded, LO will work to ensure that Norway takes the initiative for an international economic boycott."

The resolution that prevailed also states that the Petroleum Fund, Norwegian companies and financial institutions "must refrain from trade and investments in companies that contribute to the maintenance of the occupation."

idk if it helps but the new version of the show is called "wear whatever the F you want", and it seems to be more about helping people realize and embrace a personal style, rather than making fun of the way they dress.

in the trailer they help the purple shirt guy embrace the punk-rock vibe he's always wanted

i'm reading a breakdown of U.S. debt by michael hudson and uhhhhh... this is making my head hurt

Well, let me spell out just how this system works. Suppose you go to, you could do what America does and in miniature. Suppose you go to a grocery store and you buy food and other household items. And when the cashier prints out your receipt for $30, you sign an IOU, IOU $30 and put your name. Well, that’s not a credit card. That’s just you’re writing a note, a signed note, IOU $30 to the store or whoever should be the bearer of this note. Well, the manager would come out and ask you, well, what am I supposed to do with this IOU? And you could tell them, well, you can use this $30 IOU to pay whomever you buy your produce from, you know, they’re delivering milk, you know, pay them partly in check and give them my IOU and let it just circulate around and it’ll circulate and everyone will trade it just like they’d trade a dollar bill or a bank check. It’s part of their assets.

Well, obviously that’s not how the world works for you and for other individuals, but it’s how the international financial system works.

Alternative Peace Plan:

  • Turn all Russian soil into cheese
  • Make Putin lactose intolerant
  • Put together a team of highly-trained and very hungry mouse girls

the whole game is based around haggling and it has made me hate the concept of money more than even losing at monopoly can (another essential communist game)

We are herbivores in a world of carnivores. It is a power politics world, yet we still have in mind that through trade and preaching the rule of law we can have influence on the world. We must still preach the rule of law but we have to be aware there are some leaders that need to be dealt with in a different way.”

. . .

Borrell predicted the war in Ukraine, and the eventual outcome, would be one of the three driving forces creating a new world order, alongside competition between China and the US, and the rise of the global south.

He admitted he was no fan of the term “global south” to describe such a heterogeneous group of people but that an entity existed that “consider themselves part of an alternative to the western models”. He said it was critical to “try to avoid the alliance of China plus Russia, plus parts of the global south.

“The people of the global south want to be recognised because 40, 50 years ago, when the world order was built, some of these countries did not exist. Either they were colonies or so poor they did not have a vote.

“So now they are independent countries and they have been growing economically, demographically, and they want to have a say.”

He added: “Understandably these countries are hedging. One day they look at Russia , another at China. At the UN they vote against the war in Ukraine but many of them do not have this feeling of moral indignation that we have.”

In a new low of diplomacy, the Ukrainian advisor to the President of the war-hit country made bizarre claims about India and China in an interview that came days after the successful organization of the G20 summit in Delhi. Mykhailo Podolyak said, “What’s wrong with India, China, and so forth? The problem is that they are not analyzing the consequences of their steps, these countries have weak intellectual potential, unfortunately.”

Mykhailo Podolyak further said, “Yes, they invest in science. Yes, India has launched a lunar rover presently and is now trekking on the surface of the Moon, but that does not indicate that this country fully comprehends what the modern world is about.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., on Tuesday said he is directing three House committees to open an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden in an effort to seek bank records and other documents from the president and his son Hunter Biden.

sorry for more submarine posting but...

The submersible was engineered specifically with this sort of expedition in mind and with the help of NASA. It's probably one of the most technologically advanced private submersibles in the world.
