As our comrades have suggested, PC Part Picker and Logical Increments are excellent guides. I personally buy most of my parts through Newegg, and their site has a PC builder workflow that will do some basic compatability checks, like "Does the CPU I picked fit the socket on this mainboard?" and "Is my GPU going to fit in this case?", that type of stuff. I'd suggest starting with a Logical Increments build at your price point, and then plugging those picks into Newegg's builder and substituting parts as you find better deals.

Nvidia has a definite power consumption/performance edge for most use cases. The only situation in which I would caution someone against using an Nvidia GPU is if they intend to work primarily in a Linux environment. Mind you, that hasn't stopped me from playing all my games on a Debian system with an RTX 3060, it works for me, but AMD still gets better Linux drivers I am told.

I'd say that's a reasonable way to describe it, although I personally wouldn't stick around if I thought there wasn't room to discuss ideas outside of orthodox Marxism-Leninism. Personally, I owe a great deal to anarchist comrades and find much value in anarchist ideas.

Any Lenovo Thinkpad X-series. For example, I am using an X240 to write this reply. They are very easy to work on, highly compatible, and very light and portable. You can find them refurbished on Newegg, or if you have a local computer recycling center, they may have a thrift store where you can buy refurbished laptops, and Thinkpads are popular among that crowd, so you might find a good deal there.

Alternatively, many of Dell's Insperon professional laptops are excellent, and in my experience they often have better quality displays than Thinkpads for the same price point (above HD resolutions, touch screens, and better color range), so definitely worth considering if that is important for your use case.

Humans have identified the self in animals for as long as archaeological history records. The very earliest surviving figurative sculptures and illustrations of human beings feature animal features. It seems to emerge naturally from human perception, the inclination to identify with particular animals and to produce images of animal like humans, and human like animals. How this has been culturally contextualized has varied tremendously throughout history. The furry subculture is simply a modern manifestation of this impulse to produce and identify with such images and representations.

I'd speculate it's strong current within the LGBT communities is a side effect of contemporary western culture's lack of an established cultural context in which to exercise this artistic and conceptual impulse, naturally leading those who feel it strongly to be or to sympathize with people who are not well-represented within dominant culture in other ways.

Cities Skylines II is once again broken and unplayable, so I'm back to Workers & Resources, the ideologically correct city planning game.
