An excellent point.

How about Disco Elysium? Or is it too heavyweight?

[–] Salmarez@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Well, well shit.

Then again vegans know, that only not eating meat does a vegan make...

[–] Salmarez@hexbear.net 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

im-vegan And so will be them!

[–] Salmarez@hexbear.net 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I agree. Horror as a genre has been progressive most or all of the time.
Even in the 80's, when they butchered promiscuous teens, the point was that the teens were the heroes!

Coming back, after I uninstalled the game and the saves. What the heck, the saves are still here! Unfortunately I just clicked drunkenly with the cryptologistfacist, so the game assumed me a fascist, so let's restart!

The best thing about learning Japanese? You get to learn some Chinese!

[–] Salmarez@hexbear.net 2 points 2 months ago

Is this a Chinese version of Ikki/Farmer's Rebellion? [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikki_(video_game)]?

As in, source?

[–] Salmarez@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago

I have spoiled myself totally several years ago for the plot. But as for the game play....it is often so very frustrating, probably on purpose. Thanks for the info on the first two days. I know there is Cuno, but I screwed buttering him up too. The problem may ever be, that I can not handle a video game where you have to fail from time to time! But then again, we are not talking about an ordinary video game!

[–] Salmarez@hexbear.net 4 points 3 months ago

I have thought this many times before, that is why I posted the thread!

[–] Salmarez@hexbear.net 2 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Thank you for the info!

The fucking scab always has not let me enter! Okay, Measurehead is broken! Goddamn, I have never even reached my gun! Please tell me, how do I play the game? It is just too difficult!

[–] Salmarez@hexbear.net 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

No? They lost territory and their second biggest city at the time and the Mannerheim line was disassembled. Yeah, the Soviet Union did not take over the whole country, but that was not their goal, securing the area around Leningrad was.

Video games have the unfortunate and unique ability to show what lies ahead in the game by showing empty spaces in the inventory screen or menus, from which you can deduce what will happen and how long game lasts.

What is your worst example, what did games ruin for you even when you did not get spoiled by them cursed Youtube thumbnails?

For me, way back in '96, in Super Mario 64, when at the start of the game I first started playing around in outskirts of Peach's Castle and accidentally died

spoilerBowser's laughing zoom-in spoiled that he was the villain!

Sorry for the esoteric joke, please post your more earnest examples!

Now one of the Hexbear's most mythical posters made a post about the aforementioned game, which has been unfortunately erased.

I am here to pick up the slack, very slackly...

UFO 50 is an indie game project sarcastically aping the legendarily shitty game Action 52, but actually being good. Meaning, it is a game with 50 games of differing genres, but it also has games worth playing! It has deep backstory, as all indie games have to have, but I am here just to share my top 5 favorites...and not to be too toxic-ally positive, my top 5 least favorites!

Top 5:

  1. Waldorf's Journey: You are a walrus flying in a dream world. The game play consist of launching the main animal across the arena, with some great mechanics, like a shop held by a bourgeois penguin princess!
  2. Hyper Contender: An arena fighting game with very interesting movement an attack options.
  3. Bushido Ball: Pong, Windjammers, and fighting games meet in this incredible versus game.
  4. Pilot Quest: Now here is where the retro kayfabe may start to fall. It is an passable action game akin to Zelda, but with some idle game mechanics...!
  5. Night Manor: Now this is just an first person puzzle solving game that has really logical problems! You may encounter a problem while solving things, but you will persevere.

Bottom 5

  1. Onion Delivery: It is like a top down Crazy Taxi, except the car controls like a badly controlling thing, and you cannot deliver anything.
  2. Cyber Owls: Five types of gameplay, and they are so fucking unfairly hard, that you stop playing.
  3. Fist Hell: A beat em up with enemies who do not die quickly enough and who you cannot beat up while they lie on the ground.
  4. Valbrace: An dungeon crawler which has Punch Out -like action sequences instead of turn based battles. Now this would be good, but the game is also unforgiving and esoteric with its mechanics.
  5. Block Koala: I just hate Sokoban!

When you think of Nintendo and furries, most people are reminded of Star Fox. Nothing wrong with that!

The 3DS also had an new Nintendo IP, which was furry and was also very unique in its game play! Dillon's Rolling Western mixed an action game with tower defense and featured some surprisingly good touch-screen controls. The sequel was even better, and had more characters!

After two digital-only Western-styled games, we got Dillon's Dead Heat Breakers, a second sequel based on the same game play loop but with a physical release, a Mad Max-inspired setting, and the most important of all, the AMIIMAL!

At the the time, Nintendo platforms had an avatar system called the Miis, named after the unfortunately named console Wii. Now when you started a new game on Dillon's Dead Heat, you were subjected to something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVzdJ5DgZX0 Your avatar was changed to eight different animal versions!

As I started the game, my Mii changed into a fox, which was awesome, as I love kitsunes, by the way. Funnily enough, you also could (or had to) recruit other Amiimals to help you animal your tower defenses. 3DS had a Wi-fi-system which could pick other console owners avatars to stay on your own, so I had, for example, one unlikeable university classmate, changed into a goat(not the greatest of all time time!), to help me! All in all, very funny stuff!

Did anyone else here play any Dillon game? If you did, what was/would be your Amiimal? Did you like the games?

"Two dads, one toy, zero prisoners." "Where is your Christmas spirit?" "He got two! He got two!" "Put that cookie down! Now!" "Shouldn't wear fur."

Sinbad and Schwarzenegger are awesome! We also had Phil Hartman! (RIP)

I love it as a Christmas movie, because it is very realistic (cynical). I heard some people do not like it? They must gotten too much eggnog!

Neo Geegus (the villain quoted) was on the ball even in the 1990s. As in, he was very wrong on all accounts. Especially today, with Genocide Joe, Bloody Bernie and Co.

Fuck the Democrats! Rock the politics in video games!

The dream was some fed-tier stuff about how we in the imperial core should learn from some...recent big news? I woke up thinking I wasn't even drunk last night, so did I really post? I didn't, (un[?])fortunately!

Have you had some literally dreamy posting in here?

Yeah, I know I need to log grass and touch off...!

"No Johns."

I am expecting a lot of Disco Elysium, here...and nothing wrong with that!

A video gaming student organization I was once part of actually had a vote on their favorite sayings. The winner was the evergreen "Perhaps the same said could be said of all religions..." from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMTizJemHO8

Later we had a second voting, which decided on the cult classic Trio the Punch's "BAD CHOICE"! https://youtu.be/rIPtzZHJnkg?t=454

My personal favorite? It's hard to say...but hey, that's what the scientist in Half-Life can comment, word to word! So maybe I'll put forward, said by the aforementioned: "My god, what are doing!?"

Tl;dr: Check title.

Learning Korean (hexbear.net)

Learning languages kicks ass! I've been learning a bit of Japanese and Chinese, but Korean seems interesting, too! Now I don't want to waste my time with fanatical cultist libertarian boot-licking occupied losers, so does anyone know if DPRK (Korea) and Occupied Korea have differences between their languages? I believe not, but this is just vibes...!

Pets and vegans (hexbear.net)

I believe most vegans like animals. Yeah, yeah, carnists, we know your "with ketchup" shit, forget you!

Now what I wanted to struggle you people with...why the fuck do some vegans have pets? Animal stores are a fuck, 100 gorillion dead animals, but unironically! The so called conformation of animals, and the forced breeding, that's just dystopian! And you can adopt, not shop, but most do not! And outdoor cats, that's a catastrophe, especially with vegans! (Sorry for the levity, I know it's serious, but it is the Hexbear injoke)

They make money selling living beings, why would a vegan pay them!?

Sorry for the rant. Vegan btw, I think all animal industries should be shut down, including animal shops! Maybe assistance animals can be an exception, if they can be trained ethically!

What do you think?

I am a quite new furry (= been in denial for 15 years). My awakening was Kalypso from Donkey Kong Barrel Blast (hope scalies count!), but the seeds were planted in my favorite furry IP, the ever legendary Star Fox! Lylat Wars is one of my favorite games of all time, and I really like all the crew! (And Krystal too, although she came later!) What about you?
