Ok, for the most part. Didn't get much sleep last night, also feel dehydrated. Some stress over work: I'm teaching a training course for our interns and am barely able to create the course material needed for the next day of instruction. I was pulled into this late and had 2 months to create and prepare to teach a 6 week training course. Should have said no, as I did have a choice, so now am making a point to speak up for myself and enforce boundaries. I'm learning a lot from this. Ugh, so tired.

Dumb? I thought so too, then I reread their comment and looked at their post history. Not by a long shot, they know exactly what they're doing. From their first comment posted 8 hours ago: "I’m a moderate that a lot of people confuse for a conservative."

It's textbook conservative propaganda: pose as a "moderate" with a "fair and balanced" opinion, paint the Rs as misunderstood, and poison the well with a straw man argument. I mean, really, the idea of trying to "shut down the war machine" has nothing to do at all with people's fears of what another Trump presidency would bring. That's a straw man argument. It's absolute horse shit.

In other words, just more bad faith acting from a minority party that relies on deception to make it look like they have more than 35% support nationwide. Next they'll say "Why are all crimes committed by black people? Just asking questions."

@Roundcat and @Sam_uk Y'know, I would, but I don’t have the time or energy to mod a community like that. I've done that before in large active communities prone to trolling attacks, and it is a metric shit ton ton of work... and a thankless job too. And yeah, some others said this one like this in particular would be a shit show to moderate, which yeah, is true. I mean, FFS I got harassed by someone in the comments of this very post...by someone from lemmy.world! I mean, I'm just talking about the idea of the existence of a community like this, and this random tool wandered in and told me to go hang myself. I checked their profile, and earlier they called someone a f*g in a lemmy thread.

I'd love to start a community like that, I really would. Honestly, I bet it would be real rewarding to curate a space like that. But I don’t have the energy for it, especially dealing with all the unhinged fascists and racists.
