There was a doctor (husband of one of the Real Housewives ladies) that basically said he might purposely butcher a surgery if he knows the patient is pro-palestine.

For anyone who might be tempted to think that this was an exaggeration, it's not. (Link is Palestine Info Center with a video of him admitting it).

"I don't want a patient who doesn't align with my values. If you don't align, it's not going to be a good outcome, no matter how good my surgery is."

Yeah, it was always pharyngula, still is for all I know. It just moved from being hosted on scienceblogs to freethoughtblogs. Where all the queer and trans atheists migrated after the great sjw rift of "elevatorgate."

PZ Myers was famous for a blogger. He was starting to get fairly well known, like getting thrown out of theaters showing creationist films even though he was with Richard Dawkins who went unrecognized. But especially when the "new atheist" movement went mask off with the open racism, misogyny, etc, and Myers refused to go along with it and sided with the smaller contingent that were actually pro-feminism (the sjw's) it quickly killed his rising fame. Fame which would have petered out anyway as atheism stopped being the hot internet topic. And that's also the thing to keep in mind here. Conservapedia was made and its creators were trying to become famous around the same time, when new atheism vs creationism was all the rage. Myers being on the list is just because that site is like a snapshot of what the internet gave a shit about at that time. It's a time capsule from when Myers was somewhat relevant in the discourse, when conservapedia was also attempting to become relevant.

Unlike some others on the list, Myers is most definitely a liberal though. One of the few genuinely well-meaning ones from what I could tell, one who I would like to think would be a communist if he put half as much thought into it as he does biology and atheism. For example, he loudly came down on the correct side of trans rights in every circumstance I can think of, and given his clout as a professional biologist, that was always refreshing to see. It's been a long time since I've read or even thought about him though.

Not an easy feat. Congrats comrade.

but attention is what created him, and is what sustains him.

Then why recommend people go talk about him on twitter, where it might actually feed and sustain him in a tiny way, as opposed to here, where he will never know of it? Also, while I do think there are the type of people who thrive on any kind of attention be it positive or negative, it seems clear that elon actually cries, whimpers, and rages inside at being thought of as the pathetic dumbass that he is, and requires the fawning and worship of his sycophants as positive affirmation to maintain his ego against reality, against those who say of him what is true. Talking of his malevolence doesn't trivialize his malevolence.

The post should probably be in the dunk_tank where people who don't want to see this kind of thing can just unsubscribe from that comm. But it would be silly and counterproductive to deny people here catharsis and the ability to shit on elon's delusional fascism (or other any strain of fascism for that matter, regardless of how rich and famous the person expressing that fascism is. ahem.)

It depends a bit on your dose and dosing frequency. And of course varies between people. But if you're already sweating, the withdrawal is probably already setting in.

For me, about 15 hours sounds about right, that's about when I started getting antsy and skin beginning to crawl, at least when I would stop after heavy use. But that was like 50g spread out over 3 or 4 times a day and I see you're at <20g per day in 2 doses. If you're like most people, you should know by the 24 hour mark.

You're not quitting though? Is this your first time with kratom withdrawal? It's not something to scoff at, it can really suck, but I see you're also familiar with other opiates. You're right that the withdrawal shouldn't be near as bad as heroin and definitely not as bad as subs withdrawal but it's still no walk in the park.

I'm also curious though, if you don't mind sharing, you switched over from suboxone to kratom when they cut you off the former? (Which is fucking e criminal by the way. Evil fuckin bastards to that.) How was that? How long were you in withdrawal from subs when you got on kratom?

Welcome back! Despite the weird-ass struggle yesterday, plenty of us sincerely missed you (clearly) and are glad to see you back. There were several Ulysses-isms that I appreciated and was disappointed to find the site so lacking in after your departure. Not the least of which being the presence of a great void in the necessary criticism, painful for some though it may be, of treat-brained treats-worship.

But setting the controversial stuff aside, I think we all can agree that this site's emoji game in general is on a level beyond nearly all other spaces, but that you are a legend even among the legendary emojiists. I stand in awe of some of the great works produced here, and yours are primary among the masterpieces that come to mind.
