Exactly. What the fuck is wrong with everyone in this thread?

Doesn't matter if China is doing it, doesn't matter if the US is doing it. Censorship is evil. Full stop.

I'm the same way. I can't just know how to do something, I need to know why I'm doing something.

I can't just blindly follow instructions or I'll never learn. I need to understand everything so that I can find more efficient ways to do the thing I need to do. This is a common frustration I have in the workplace.

And then Trump stomped on the remains and took a shit on them.

Yes CamelCamelCamel is still useful. I check it every time before a major purchase.

Same, and I live in the desert. How the fuck do you kill a plant that's living in its native environment!? I didn't treat it any worse than what a wild desert cacti would get.

Neither could I but I still don't want to anyway.

Well with Stremio you don't need to do that, because it's laid out like Netflix. That's why I prefer it over Plex; no downloading, no transferring files over (and if you add a Debrid service to the mix, no waiting on seeds, either). Just pick what you want to watch with your TV remote and enjoy. It's convenient enough that your Boomer parents could navigate it with ease.

StartAllBack restores this functionality. (It also allows you to arrange the taskbar icons and buttons any way you see fit, and even replace the entire Start menu with the one from Win7, 8.1, or 10.)

Probably, but what about games?

No. I wouldn't even bother with a modern display unless it's a 4K 120Hz HDR OLED at minimum.

That said, keep in mind that Linux's support for HDR is limited at best, and I believe that only KDE supports it. That means no RTX HDR and no AutoHDR. So if a game or video doesn't have native support for HDR, you can only play/watch it in SDR. Which is a damn shame, cause even SDR content looks amazing when converted, especially in the highlights.

If you don't mind dual-booting, I'd recommend Windows 11 for SDR games, movies, and YouTube, until Linux gets its own conversation tools. You can also use Win10 (or LTSC), but then you'll only get RTX HDR because 10 doesn't support AutoHDR (which isn't a huge deal because RTX HDR can replace AutoHDR in most games).
