And I am definitely firmly in calorie deficit, but I am not insisting on the shake, it just seemed a reasonable option.

I am interested in the quark/muesli/berries route. Is there a specific amount I should be eating?

I was considering Huel to be fair, might be worth more researching, thanks

I (40M) am new to this whole scene because I wanted to lose weight. This is the first time I have ever really gained weight because my metabolism was always stupid high, but its slowed down in middle age as expected.

I started intermittent fasting, immediately cut out snacks and started having a Slimfast shake for lunch, then a reasonable dinner.

Thats all been fine, and my weight is starting to come down.

I did read articles saying that Slimfast isnt particularly good because of the sugar content, but all the articles seem to be from the US (I am British) and the stuff I have is no added sugar, and all that seems to be carb based.

People have suggested skipping it for a protein shake instead, but a lot of that is conflicting!

People have said about making a shake with protein and peanut butter, people have said peanut butter is awful for it.

I just dont know what to do and I am going in circles.

What can I drink at lunch that is better than I am currently drinking? Do I just mix the protein as directed? Do I add things?

Incognito mode works, but you can't see the history

Thanks, i had read some bits about it, but not how dramatically it can affect. Might be worth a test to see what my levels are.

I am using a calisthenics app and I really like it to be fair, but augment with the resistance bands and some cardio.

But I want to be ripped now!

I do have a before photo which I will use as a bench mark.

Oh I was not fit before! Fitness was always tomorrows problem. I am definitely starting to feel changes in my shoulders, and my arms feel tighter.

Its hard not to focus on! But I try not to dwell, and keep pushing through the exercise.

Good work.

I dont eat a lot of meat anyway, but god damn I love beef. Maybe its time to start looking at vegetarian alternatives like Quorn, its great in a pasta sauce.

Thanks, that makes me feel hopeful!

The diet and exercise is making me feel hungry, because I was eating out of boredom I am eating a lot less, but I am now drinking a lot more water, so I am getting up to pee in the night more.

I should have just stuck to the cakes.

I am currently in the honeymoon phase and enjoying it. Apart from cardio on the exercise bike, because the daily squats turn my legs to jelly.

Thanks, I appreciate the input.

I understand that this whole process is going to be more difficult without a gym, but financially its not feasible just yet. Also because I am at the beginning of the process, I figured I would wait until I knew I could stick at it, rather than start a subscription I dont use.

I just turned 40, and for the past 5 or so years I have been unhappy with the way I look.

All my life my metabolism has been insane, I could literally eat anything all day and not gain a gram, which has its downsides as well, but not the point.

My weight went up to 80kg and I formed a pot belly which I didnt like. One night I decided enough was enough, started a diet and exercise routine.

I did look at gyms but they are stupid expensive where I live, so I bought a resistance band thing from InnStar. Its like a Gymproluxe if you have been bombarded with Facebook ads. I use it every day for bench press, preacher curls, and some other things I dont know the name of.

I also started using a body weight exercise app that claimed results in a month.

The diet I thought would be hardest, but I immediately stopped all snacks and moved onto a weightloss protein shake which are amazing and I cant believe it took this long to taste them.

Its been a week, and I feel better, Im not sleeping as much, I look forward to exercise, I am much more physically active than before, but I dont feel like I look any different. I am not expecting instant results and I havent booked myself into a Mr World contest this weekend, but I am curious to hear real experiences of when people started to notice their own changes.

So I got really into CIV 6 recently. And of course I built a huge army and started steam rolling everyone around me and made the ENTIRE WORLD furious, which apparently isnt the point of the game.

So is there a similar 4x game where I can be a warmonger and not be shunned?

I bought a PSP 2000 (yuck) from a friend that had no battery.

The battery took ages to arrive, and when it did, everything was fine for about 20 minutes, then the screen developed vertical lines.

The image isnt mine, its from a YouTube video, but its the exact same issue.

Does anyone know a fix? Some one suggested an LCD replacement.

Was it because I finished her song with her? I wonder if she has a romance Arc.

Oh... Oh no...

How they picked all the flesh from my leg leaving my bones clean.

I wanted sweets from the old days of big glass jars in the corner shop, so I bought aniseed balls and cola cubes online, because they are no where in my sleepy town.

I only briefly glanced at the weights and assumed they were about right, and in my giddy, pre sugared state I glossed over the price.

Imagine my surprise when I got a kilo of each.

I have eaten so many aniseed balls everything tastes like medicine, which I also quite like.
