I am very happy he's not in prison, but also upset he did not recieve the full pardon, more happy than upset, but classic the-democrat to means test doing something cool, so it's only something mostly cool.

Kind of amazing they are still clinging to the idea that he did that shit with quite literally no evidence, I'm glad he did something at least, I heard Deb Haaland* spoke to him directly about this throughout his term, so if she couldn't convince him no one could, I also heard Leonard has diabetes and a few other health problems and wasn't getting proper medical treatment so I hope he gets that at least, even though he is still not free in home confinement.

Natalie Bara, the president of the FBI Agents Association, which advocates for active and retired agents, said it is "outraged" by Biden's reprieve for Peltier.

"This last-second, disgraceful act by then-President Biden, which does not change Peltier's guilt but does release him from prison, is cowardly and lacks accountability," Bara said in a statement. "It is a cruel betrayal to the families and colleagues of these fallen Agents and is a slap in the face of law enforcement."

Get fucked Natalie and by association all other feds.

I don't want to be too much of a pedant, but it is different, it's not likely any of these people did anything besides Hunter. Unless it comes out these people actually did anything, comparing Hunter to Kushner is a fair comparison, but preemptively pardoning your family because you think they are gonna get persecuted because they are related to you is pretty unprecedented. I don't really fault sleepy for this, what's the alternative letting Trump groundlessly put your family in courts and make a media spectacle out of it.

Me; trying; to; use; semicolons; after seeing a user saying one of the biggest problems with Hexbear was users writing sentences with too many commas.

It seems like the makeshift new 196 from blahaj called c/onehundredninetysix has completely won out from the original one that migrated to lemmy.world; there are 10x as many posts on the new blahaj one than the migrated one. Hopefully the behaviour associated with the problematic mod that was behind the migration has migrated with that mod. But cool to see users not being okay with going to an objectively worse instance.

My dad legitimately thinks that TikTok is a national security problem and "it must be really scary if 80% of congress voted to ban it."

It's a national security problem in the sense that any closed source app that connects to the internet on a VIP is a national security problem, it just happens to be owned by a country that Amerikkka wants to beef with, there is just as much danger in a closed source US owned app like Facebook getting hacked by a foreign actor and leaking sensitive information, the op-sec of most governments and a lot of businesses are generally horrendous, anyone doing anything important enough to be worth targeting should have nothing that isn't strictly needed on their phones, you think they would take it more seriously, but they do not.

John Oliver: This is why we have to ban TrumpTok, I mean DrumpfDrok

This person is either doing an avant-garde troll operation or they just kinda stink, they post Brietbart and stuff from all the really transphobic obscure Trotskyist parties and have like 20 alt accounts all named the same thing. I'm more inclined to think they are farming hate/interactions.

Got a podcast ad from one of those ones that just puts in whatever and it was about the libs trying to take away your credit card, don't you as an Amerikkan love paying with your credit card. Can not figure out what it is about, obviously treatler ism, but I don't even know what it was going for or referencing.

I fear for the people that continue to watch after the desktop slip up. He's still cranking out 100k view YouTube videos so I'm gonna guess he's doing just fine unfortunately.

How does it run and if you're playing it on another operating system are you having a good time playing it? I could probably also emulate it on android with Waydroid if the linux compatibility is not there.
