Hello I have run some table-top role-playing games for hexbear users for a few years now Pathfinder 2e, Cyberpunk RED, Shadowrun 5e, and Masks.

I wanted to see if there was any interest in a weekly game on roll20 as a VTT and discord for voice.

I'm interested in running:

  • Blades in the Dark using the Deep Cuts supplement [Victorian / steampunk heist game]
  • Night's Black Agents [Modern spy/vampire investigation using the GUMSHOE system]
  • Delta green [modern alphabet agency investigation of call of Cthulhu / SCP mythos using a d100 skill based system]
  • Pulp Cthulhu [retro action/investigation like Indiana Jones/The Mummy based on Call of Cthulhu 7th edition a d100 skill based system]
  • Monster of the Week [modern monster hunter / investigation style based on the Powered by the apocalypse system a player-facing narrative focused system]

I would be open to 3 - 5 players, I like to play weekly for around 3 hours and will run as long as 2 players show up i'm open to running a sandbox in a basic fantasy rpg style system if we don't have the full group

I'm in CET and am available to start from 17:00 CET to 21:00 CET [ending between 20:00 CET and 24:00] and am available Tuesday through Friday.

Ok sounds good, any of the games appeal to you more than the others?

What day and start time work best for you?

I've been following this research document for awhile as I watched nominal.naomi's videos

https://www.masterdoc.info/

and

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1WZBpR9Ll3lNi7-ig8FvB2grMlhsmRZNa34cROGK2rEE

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) is floating Elon Musk to be Speaker of the House after the powerful, billionaire tech businessman helped torpedo a bipartisan agreement on a short-term spending bill.

Why it matters: He's the first GOP lawmaker to explicitly suggest Musk should be Speaker, and his comments come as Speaker Mike Johnson's (R-La.) bid to keep his job is under serious threat.

Musk has already emerged as one of the most powerful voices in politics, and has become one of President-elect Trump's closest confidants.

What he's saying: "Nothing would disrupt the swamp more than electing Elon Musk," Paul posted on X on Thursday morning. "[T]hink about it . . . nothing's impossible. (not to mention the joy at seeing the collective establishment, aka 'uniparty,' lose their ever-lovin' minds)"

Between the lines: The Constitution does not specify that the Speaker of the House has to be a member of the chamber — though they always have been.

non-representative names have been floated over the years during Speaker elections. paul has long been an advocate for slashing government spending, though he is in the wrong chamber to have much say over who will win the Speakers' gavel in January's floor vote. Trump, meanwhile, told Fox News Digital on Thursday morning that Johnson will "easily remain speaker" if he "acts decisively and tough" and eliminates "all of the traps being set by Democrats" in the spending package.

Kind of neat to see you on lemmy. I've purchased Return of the Lazy Dungeon Master and have watched some of your youtube videos, the 1 year of shadowdark was informative as I just started a Shadowdark version of Keep on the Borderlands.

I have done online only since the pandemic so GIMP, Inkarnate, Roll20, and ZIM Desktop Wiki are pretty essential for organizing as well as digital table-top for play.

I own and frequently use the (Stars/Worlds/Cities) without numbers books often depending on the genre for procedural world-building but I was recently gifted Microscope and im sorry did you say street magic so I'm looking forward to making the shift towards collaborative world building with the players.

Also from the SWN book are the faction rules which are broadly applicable.

Finally I usually reread the Mothership Wardens Operations Manual before I do my October horror one-shots

While I haven't yet purchased Justin Alexander's So you want to be a game master, I have extensively read his blog, and often reread it when creating for a new campaign.

If you are interested in something that does a great job of capturing the "D&D" vibe but not crunchy, I recommend https://chasingadventuregame.com/files/Chasing%20Adventure%20Free%201.6.pdf

Foundry is a really neat VTT I just wish there was a way for a single host to allow access to unlimited amount of "tables"

If it is your kind of thing it support for animated maps is fantastic.

FWIW there is also Owlbear Rodeo https://www.owlbear.rodeo/

when do you play?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Sounds good, we are actually connected on discord, I played in a Stars without Number game with you owl-wink

I would use the pre-written modules for mothership, there are a lot of really good ones.

For investigation horror I would read over some of the alexandrian articles on clues, and general advice: https://thealexandrian.net/wordpress/1118/roleplaying-games/three-clue-rule

Horror also is helped by pacing, don't be afraid to let silence sit and let tension grow but also make sure that it is building and not just the players standing around discussing.

I would highly reccommend doing: Mothership - Haunting of Ypsilon 14 as your oneshot it is fantastic. For longer term play I recommend: https://www.tuesdayknightgames.com/products/gradient-descent

Hey everyone!

I've been running table top roleplaying games for hexbear users for awhile now and have some unexpected bonus free-time the last two weeks of october.

I'm looking for anyone interested and available Monday - Friday between October 21st to the 31st.

Because of the season I was thinking I would like to run:

Delta Green , Monster of the Week , or Shadowdark

I'm in CET so start-times are going to be around 8:00 AM - 1:00pm east coast united states time and last about three to four hours in duration. If a group of folks are available I'm open to a two-shot with the same group.

I like to use roll20 as a digital tabletop and have a small discord server of hexbear only folks we would use for voice chat. I will also provide all the necessary rules as well as a pool of premade character to use. If you have any questions or want to sign up please leave a comment or send me a message!

Thanks for your interest and happy spooky season.

Hello people, you may know me from my multiple posts for my weekly sunday cyberpunk game I've been running for hexbear users for a year now. Me and a few other awesome trans-femme hexbear users have come together to start up a game of Masks, a Powered by the Apocalypse game that centers on teenage superheroes.

Inspired by Teen Titans or Young Justice, Masks explores how superpowers impact a teen's life, and their relationships. A very rules-lite system that empowers the players to create a story all of their own, we look to play once a week at or around 2:00 PM CST / 8:00 PM CET. At the moment we are playing on Saturdays but are open to some other days of the week (Not Monday/Wednesday/Sunday)

You do not need to have any previous TTRPG experience or knowledge of comic books, or even LGBT, just interest in role-playing and collaborative story-telling with comrades.

We use a private discord server for voice and roll20 for the virtual tabletop

Please comment or send a direct message for any information/interest.

Thanks!

While there are no more spaces in the game please reach out if you are interested if something happens I'll be pleased to reach out.

Hello and thanks for the interest, I've been running a weekly cyberpunk roleplaying game for hexbear users for over a year now, and I'm looking for new people to join a heist/anti-corporate aktion/criminal syndicate intrigue campaign.

The current system is Shadowrun 5e and I can provide all the information to play the game on Roll20 the web-based tabletop simulator we use to play and utilize discord for voice. We'll build a character together to join the existing group of:

Mafia Orcish Gun-guy Ex-corporate Human Medical Mage Ex-corporate Elven Infiltration Mage Shadowy Human Drone Operator

We are looking for one to two people to join us on Sundays for three hours starting at 8:00PM CET / 2:00PM EST

Please leave a comment or send a DM if interested or have any questions

We started off playing Cyberpunk Red and are just now playing Shadowrun 5E, a delightful mix of cybernetic technology, magic, and near-future corporate wrecking mischief!

We play on sundays from 20:00 to 23:00 CET or 14:00 to 17:00 EST the majority of the players are from hexbear with the exception of a single person. We are skipping November 26 so the next date of play will be December 3rd.

I can provide all the books and resources for developing the character, we play on Roll20 using maps, tends to be a pretty even mix between roleplay and combat. Even spread between goofy/fun play and more serious moral explorations in the context of a cyberpunk world. We have a couple femme of center and a couple masculine of center folks in the game. We use lines/veils and try to include some time before and after the game to socialize out of character.

I am an experienced GM in many genres of ttrpgs but would say I specialize in cyberpunk/modern settings, and welcome anyone to join no matter their experience with TTRPGs (a couple players are very new to TTRPGS and others are quite experienced) or Shadowrun. I will ask that if you are very knowledgable about the Shadowrun world / timeline of events / big plot points to do your best to not meta-game or share that knowledge out of character.

We use discord for voice, and while we do have a home-server we have been using a group message/call for playing.

Any questions or interest please comment here or DM me.

Thanks!
