Yes obviously, but it's so tiring. There's not even that kind of opportunity for progression at my work.

In fact, I would argue that in many places, dealing with issues on your own and directly rather than bothering your boss at every little thing is actually a better route to promotion as it shows responsibility and initiative and the ability to actually do the manager's job rather than just snitch.
