Ohhh, is that that other thing the US doesn't do? 😂

We have much to learn from the frog sensei...

True! I was conflating a bucket of crabs and boiling frogs. I guess we're both though, so it's pretty fitting.

Properly regulated capitalism isn't strictly horrible. The biggest issue we have is that first bit, unfortunately.

Yeah, this is kind of my attitude as well, sadly. I'm a younger millennial, but I feel I've been around long enough to determine we're truly just a pot of boiling crabs dragging everyone else down to try to save ourselves.

I think one of the hardest parts of getting older, at least for me, is watching the childlike wonder and hope for the world within yourself slowly vanish. I'll never stop fighting the good fight, but the light has definitely died in my heart. Honestly, sad as fuck.

America? Educating their population? For free??

[–] [email protected] 2 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago)

To be fair, we kinda did. Don't get me wrong, workers are still heavily exploited now, but we've come a long way since then. At least we have minimum wage and some degree of workers rights now, even if we still have a way to go.

Hopefully this current productivity boom can continue to push us along that path without driving us further into techno dystopia.

I do not enjoy this graph.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Huh, so 7 years bad luck was actually just heavy metal poisoning? Fascinating...

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

Only if you're punching down, obviously

Dude has Netanyahu's phone number, but he's screaming into the void of the internet like some pleb? Yeah, definitely not a good look.

I'll let it slide. This time...

Hopefully this kind of post isn't too tired, but I figure it's my turn:

Finally decided to, after absolutely refusing to upgrade to 11, make the jump from Win10 to Linux! Been hopping around distros a bit and landed on EndeavourOS last night and I'm really enjoying it so far.

It's definitely tinkery and took me like 2 hours just to get my push to talk working in Discord (mostly due to my own lack of knowledge), but I love the level of control of everything you have (was on Pop!_OS before ~~🤮~~, edit: no hate, just wasn't for me!)

There's definitely never been a better time to switch and I'm very excited for when I inevitably brick my shit and come back here for help, so thanks in advance everyone! :)

Greetings fellow Onewheel enthusiasts!

Welcome to /c/Onewheel on Lemmy, a new hub for our thriving and passionate Onewheel community.

Recently, as some of you may be aware, Reddit made some significant changes to their API which has greatly impacted third-party apps, accessibility, and moderation tools, prompting me to look for a more inclusive, open, and sustainable platform. In response to this decision, I chose to start a new community on a platform that values user-driven content over corporate control. I found that in Lemmy, a place that enables us to shape our own community dynamics without the reliance on a centralized corporate driven platform such as Reddit.

My goal is to facilitate a seamless transition and continue building a community that thrives on mutual respect, shared interests, and the joy of Onewheel riding.

I’m currently in discussions with the mods of /r/Onewheel, inviting them to bring their valuable expertise and commitment to this community on Lemmy. I’m am confident that their involvement will uphold the high standards of content, camaraderie, and supportive atmosphere that our community is renowned for.

Whether you’re an expert rider, a tech enthusiast, a casual rider, or a curious newbie, you are welcome here. This is your space to share experiences, ask questions, impart wisdom, or simply enjoy conversations about the world of Onewheel.

Getting started on Lemmy is straightforward. Create an account and you can immediately begin posting, commenting, and upvoting content. For those unfamiliar with Lemmy, there’s a comprehensive guide available here to help you navigate the platform.

Above all, I value community input on how to further develop /c/Onewheel on Lemmy. This community is built by and for its members. Your opinions, suggestions, and ideas are not only welcomed but actively encouraged.
