This is based on Goya's famous painting "Saturn Devouring His Son", if anyone was wondering.
One of my favorites. I wish we knew if that's really what he intended to depict - people just guessed.
I dunno, I think that's part of the magic of the Black Paintings. To me, what makes them truly unsettling (in the best way) is the fact that he painted them exclusively for his own desire and that we're limited to guessing the subject matter (which, although ambiguous, was undoubtedly dark).

I never heard about how it was made before and that really changed how I view the work.

Insanity created some of the most definitely gothic images ever. Goya is so slept on. I'm especially partial to his etchings

Huh, neat. I tend to believe it is anyways with that previous sketch and simply belonging to under the umbrella of Romanticism but there's some solid points there against it.
Just the point that the buttocks are too round to fit a typical male depiction is pretty compelling.

Definitely didn't originate with Alan Moore. I've seen it attributed to Pablo Picasso but I think the first is probably Aristotle.

Good one. Not that I can do any better, but would it make more sense to put the statue of liberty there to better reflect the original inspiration?
I would have Trump raping the Statue of Liberty for both the truth and shock value.

Liberty and Justice being assaulted. Apropos. What really sucks is that these were made during his first term, which was nothing compared to the full-on fascist assault he's doing now.
