The embassy released a list of posts on Weibo i believe in response to Americans talking about life here in XHS. They claimed we have universal healthcare and an average household net worth of 1.2 million dollars lmao

They’re more pricey but there are high refresh rate handheld PCs like the Steam deck OLED, or the Lenovo Legion Go S that’s coming out this month. They’re 90Hz and 120Hz respectively

Yes absolutely, it is the building block of my security posture. I encrypt because I don’t want thieves to have access to my personal data, nor do I want law enforcement or the state to have access if they were to raid my house. I’m politically active and a dissident so I find it vital to keep my data secure and private, but frankly everybody should be doing it for their own protection and peace of mind

So you can relate dimensions to the physical world, but the way we tend to think of them in math and physics is more abstract. Generally I think describing them as “degrees of freedom” is accurate; they are extra ways of viewing the functions or concepts you’re working with. Higher dimensions allow us to discern information about the lower dimensions we exist in, much the same way higher order derivatives show us behavior of the lower level function. Dunno if this is helpful I might edit this in the morning when I’m not sleepy to make it more useful

I was gifted a telescope two years ago and only recently had the time to start using it. Making it my mission to observe all of our planets, so far I’ve seen Mars, Jupiter, Venus, and Saturn. Very excited for this!!

I was reminded how much it rocked when I went to the Duke lemur center years ago and got to meet the Zaboomafoo family. They’re dope

One of my majors was math and I swear people who already knew that would ask what i study just to tell me how much they hate math lmao. It really gets a bad rap from such an early age and it’s all down to how it’s taught imo. Once you connect the dots and realize the applications and beauty of the science it becomes an absolute joy to explore
