It'd be ugly, but as a pair that kind of utter callousness miiiight be effective. Show a happy-go-lucky war film of laughing and jeering bomber pilots just being dudes, spliced with the groundside horror.

Probably best not though.

Yeah, probably not, since most of that mass is going to be unnecessary and bring hundreds of random complications - but it'd present a very valuable step towards better iterations. The stuff learned from full clones would be applicable towards more targeted growth of usable organs (with some pared-down body scaffolding), the clones themselves would allow for some degree of testing of genetic therapies, new medicines, nerve stapling, experimental transplant methods, exotic cuisine, etc.

All very ethical stuff.

Still pretty far-out from a thing we can do, and while mindless clones should be a "thing we can do ethically"... well, I'm sure we'll find a way to fuck that up.

There are 14 stripes...

Damn cryptofascists, gets annoying to be sensitive to their patterns. Makes it tiring to guess when it's just coincidence - which is part of the point of it, but still.

These days when the King wants to wander down to the corner shop we can't even fill our potholes with wine and almonds, or line up our bin men in their regalia, because of woke.

I came across this article a while back inspired by that reference in Salt. Very cool stuff.

"Pounded in the butt by the AI graduated from Facebook's pirate training operation, but not very well compared to the lean efficiency of the pounding provided by DeepSeek with significantly less illegal torrenting, despite the eyepatch and parrot."

Life in plastic, it's fantastic. Plastic in life, it's... blithe?

I am not good at this, I have a spoon in my brain.

I think there've also been multiple global infections - viral, psychic, and nanotech - that were all designed to either make people hate mutants (more), randomly make them into mutants, or just plain ol' kill mutants. Marvel Earth is cursed.

I am trying to work out how to read on my partner's old smartwatch because I got snitched on! Blindsight'll be a good test book to try.

It'd fit as something like Season 7 of For All Mankind - though in that case it'd end up being be more about the immortal technocorpse of Joel Kinnaman's character fucking things up ala Mr House.

Even the price doesn't seem to have changed all that much over the decade

They're heavily subsidized to get people into the Amazon ebook ecosystem, where they can make massive profits through not having to provide a physical object.

I think the tantric side of Daoist mysticism/alchemy has semen retention as a way of preserving vital energy, but... as to whether that has its own terminology or not I am also not going to investigate.

I did read a few cultivation webnovels a while ago, and I recall a few jokes to the effect of "The great sage has been furiously seeking immortality in his cave for days now".
