Does that run the risk of leading to a future collapse of certain businesses, especially if their expenses remain consistently astronomical like OpenAI? Please note I don’t actually know—not trying to be cheeky with this question. Genuinely curious.

They love pointing out their revenue instead of their profit. It they were truly making money, you’d think they’d refer to their profit instead.

Or they keep telling you that you just have to wait it out. It’s going to get better and better!

They absolutely will. AI is great if you drastically lower your standards.

Replace people with AI then hire people to replace the AI….

That was a bit knee-jerk of me, likely due to my irritation with the destruction of club flyers. It does appear they pay non-commercial rental fees.

I'm irritated enough that churches in my area are provided free spaces to worship. It's a common practice in Northern VA for churches to hold worship services in schools on the weekends and, in the case of my wife's former school, tear down LGBTQ+ club signs. Here comes more possible (probable) encroachment.

Stellar read. So OpenAI et al keep going at the current rate, and there’s never any profit—when does it burst? How spectacular does it burst? Or will we simply have laid off a significant portion of the tech workforce and then it fizzles away?

I’m interested in this because I adore Godzilla, but I held off because it is so unbelievably close in plot to Kaiju Heist, which I loved. Can’t be coincidental.

This one lit a fire under me. Downloaded my entire library, removed DRM, and am now self-hosting and reading via BookFusion. Will be purchasing a Kobo in the near future.

It’s hideous perfection and only missing a num pad.
