Seventy-seven percent of manual scavengers are from Scheduled Caste communities.

Wow I’m saddened. No protective gear, no gas mask.

This is me and I feel like I’m defective or something. I can’t remember dates and locations for the life of me. That’s why I take so many photos (to help remember). My great-grandmother was demented, which doesn’t help. I mean I don’t really know, but I have this worry that I’m going down that path…

Cops at my hospital are all in overtime. They bring in inmates for psych holds/psych eval and then supervise them hands-off for the entire hospital stay. Easy money. Then the really entitled ones try to act pushy and basically want us to give the patient shots for unjustified reasons. Just so they can sit and watch movies without being bothered.

Also popular is renting a car in CA and then driving around there, to Vegas and some other national parks (a la Grand Canyon, Yellowstone and Utah’s).

In addition to what everyone else said, I like tagging instance admins too. Only my instance admins are highlighted (red), but I like to know an admin when I see one in the wild lol.

I’ll also tag accounts that show a lot of specialized knowledge in their field of work. Like, “environmental scientist” or “airline pilot” or something like that.

But most of the time there are no tags, I’m just relying on my total upvote/downvote count towards the account to get some sense of who they are.

When that realization moment happens, it’s like flipping a switch. Like losing steam, getting past the anger. I tend to get quiet and actually listen/empathize instead of trying to win the argument. I also quiet down due to feeling ashamed of being wrong. I have no problems saying “sorry” if that’s the case.

Just keep in mind, you may have this perception because the Americans you see are happy and on vacation lol. They’re traveling to another country, which selects for confidence and curiosity.

Crazy. See FDR got away with it, they would stage photos and prop him up, cover the wheelchair with a blanket. But that’s impossible now that social media is a thing.
