I think there are like half a dozen walking dead shows currently airing. They expanded hard. I watched the first few seasons at university and one of my buddies there just absolutely loved zombies and special effects. He didn't care about the story at all but watched it religiously. I can imagine there are tons of people like that who love all the shows.
