Short answer: yes

Slightly longer answer: depens on where you live

Don't quote me on that but I'm pretty sure it originally didn't have that ending planned and it was changed later at some point during writing. I'm trying to find anything on that but I'm failing to find it. I'm sure I've read some interview mentioning that years ago though.

E: Wait? I think I found something? https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interest/2020-10-12/violet-evergarden-director-discusses-his-initial-hesitation-about-creating-sequel-film/.165111

"In the TV series, whether Gilbert lives or dies isn't shown, but even if Violet were to never meet him again, she would live on," he said. "Personally speaking, that's the entirety of the story I intended to tell. So when talks of a sequel came up, I actually said that there was nothing else I wanted to do. But when I read the plot that the scriptwriter Reiko Yoshida wrote, it was so believable that I was spurred to action. I came to think that it was fine for Gilbert to live. This was a little less than two years ago."

E2: But the novel finished years before that so I guess it was a set stone already. The anime supposedly changed lots compared to novel so maybe in novel it was smoother compared to anime that didn't intend to include that ending.

Many niche communities have more activity than lemmy itself or something rivaling lemmy. You're missing my point about lemmy not having enough people. Lemmy is literally carried by few select posters. What's worse is the fact that many communities straight up can't be carried by 1 person because it's for example a community for people's personal stories and just copy/pasting it to lemmy would kill all nuance to it.

Still is, I regularly get great results from it.

It has lots of very active niche communities that lemmy just doesn't have. If you really want them then you have pretty much no choice. It's also still a very useful site for your browser searches because of the amount of information on it.

Oooooooooooooof, I spoilered myself a lot about ending, I was planning on finishing the first game rather soon.

This is so bad that it reminded me of reddit protest that I managed to forget about. xD

I just don't thing that giving attention to those people is good unless it's specifically about mocking them. Not like the second thing doesn't do the same thing as first one but yeah... Personal opinions and stuff.

Edit: also I don't get how anyone can be fine with having transphobes in their regular memes. Each your laugh will be accompanied by disgust of seeing a pos alongside the text.

Yeah, I know about the variations of those but nothing came to my mind when thinking about this format or something similar to it. Hmmm...
