For presentations she can check out Penpot. It's web based, mainly for UI design, but super easy to use. Also FOSS.

Check which blocking lists you have. I use the same and don't see any ads

Noam Chomsky, David Graeber, Aaron Benanav, Howard Zinn... A good fictional book that defamiliarizes capitalism is 'The Disposessed' by Ursula Le Guinn.

Which country are you based in? I know the nordics have a lot of clubs for different types of sports. Or even organizations based on profession which have networking events. Check LinkedIn, Meetup, FB...

If you're in a new place, join some kind of a club. It's easier to meet people that way. About dating, if people have red flags, don't waste your time with them.

Isn't syncthing discontinued? Meaning not maintained anymore? I use Filen which is a cloud service, but it's not the best.

Having lived in quite a few countries now, it's all about who you know. It's extremely hard to get a job when you don't have a network.

Mickey 17 should be better.

Just watched it. Unfortunately, it is absolutely horrible. There is no narrative, the editing is extremely bad, as is the sound. It's over 2hrs long, and the last 40 minutes were absolutely useless. I am so disappointed to see such a bad doc for a band I truly love.
