Okay so what is he - or anyone - gonna do about it? It’s obvious we have a problem, so what’s the prescription?

We just kind of don't really believe in the future anymore in general. Least, not in any practical ways.

It's interesting how quickly the Disney canon managed to develop the same problems the OT/PT had with the old EU - a lot of side material that's deeper and more interesting than the actual movies. At least the OT/PT managed to pick a plot and stick to it long enough to get a cohesive end result, though.

I had actual friends for precisely two years of high school. Mostly just been coworkers, people at the wrong time for socialization, and people I’m afraid to talk to since. Been on three dates, none of which went anywhere. Pretty much didn’t know anyone that wasn’t a coworker or family for my entire 20s. My social skills have been atrophying for like fifteen years
