Wait, was Henry Potter the bad guy in, "It's a Wonderful Life"?

Are you getting the crazy dreams? Every time I take a break from weed I get intense dreams. It doesn't seem to affect the quality of my sleep, but my partner gets sick of me trying to explain my detailed dreams within dreams.

Edit: oops, you already answered this

I had a libertarian tell me once that we shouldn't have drivers licenses because its against freedom. He said people Iran are more free in this aspect, because "they can just hop in a car and drive at age 13", which I doubt is even true.

I find it does the worst when it tries to reroute you.

If you search the route before you go it'll show you a route that uses main roads and highways. Then you make one stop and it changes the route to use side streets and does weird stuff.

If I have time I will plot the route ahead of time and pin it and it seems to work better.

This is like stackoverflow or most Linux forums. Aggressively dickish, condescending and arrogant. A bunch of people who are trying to look smart by trashing someone for daring to come into their community and ask a relevant question.

"Did you even use the search function(that one doesn't work for shit)?

I can't believe you're so lazy that you want someone to spoon-feed you answers on this questions and answer site.

I am far to busy and have better things to do than answer your questions on this support forum. I will however write several paragraphs chastising you, I have time for that."

Click the first link on a Wikipedia page that is not a date or a pronunciation and is not in italics. Do that on each subsequent page until you get to Philosophy.

The game is to find a subject that is the farthest from Philosophy.

I'm a cis man who rarely plays as a male character. I play games to experience something different, not to engage in power fantasies.

This guy is upset that the game reminded him that the real world exists, where he feels like things are moving away from a white male centered society. It shattered his power fantasy and reminded him he's an insignificant loser shouting into the void.

One of the billionaires who owns Clarence Thomas did have business before the court and he didn't recuse himself.

One of his clerks received 7 payments for thousands of dollars via venmo labelled "Clarence Thomas Christmas party" from conservative lawyers who have argued cases before the court.

The lawyers who made the Venmo transactions were: Patrick Strawbridge, a partner at Consovoy McCarthy who recently successfully argued that affirmative action violated the US constitution; Kate Todd, who served as White House deputy counsel under Donald Trump at the time of the payment and is now a managing party of Ellis George Cipollone’s law office; Elbert Lin, the former solicitor general of West Virginia who played a key role in a supreme court case that limited the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to regulate greenhouse gas emissions; and Brian Schmalzbach, a partner at McGuire Woods who has argued multiple cases before the supreme court.

I think you're onto something with "game recognizes game". I think many of these people feel like a fraud, insecure but trying to affect confidence. They see Trump being an absolute fraud, but think he's succeeding at fooling everyone around them. It lessens their insecurity when Trump is unquestionably accepted by conservatives, so they never tell anyone that they secretly see through his bullshit. Then they become the proof for other people that he's fooling everyone.

I'm am frequently in awe of the complexity of modern cars. I like to think about all of the tiny bits and how they all work together with minimal maintenance for many years. Most of those parts are made by other complex machines which are made using another set of complex machines.

Basically all gas engines these days go 100k miles before dying if maintained. That's billions of little contained explosions that we take for granted.

Why did owls evolve to be so damn cute if they didn't want to be hugged?

I don't have AC and haven't really needed it this year. I'm way north in New Hampshire.

We keep the heat at 63-65f(about 17c) in the winter, but occasionally go up to 67 when it's warmer out and the furnace doesn't have to work as hard to keep it there.
