I've been making 3D models of cars and cash registers and computers using a program designed to make Quake maps called Trenchbroom and it's way more intuitive and user friendly than Blender for me. I still need to figure out Blender because I can't make a rigged character model in Trenchbroom, but it feels like it was designed by aliens. Weight painting in particular feels like a made up joke that everyone is in on but me.

I've been watching a lot of videos about Star Citizen, it looks pretty neat despite all the bugs. But I can't help but think the universe is this ancap utopia where everyone owns their own ship and does whatever work they want, instead of what it'd be in reality where the corporate factions would own your ship and you'd need to pay them rent to keep the oxygen and engines working. You wouldn't get to pick your own jobs you'd just have to do the most tedious bullshit for no good pay and the only players having fun would be pirates. And even then the hierarchies on the larger pirate crews would resemble the corporate structure and suck for the pirates at the bottom of the pyramid. I would probably buy the game if they just let you be a space janitor like in Space Station 13.

Brain is broken because programmer people like to shorten the word Library to just Lib and everytime I see that I think "heh, lib."

It also likes to forget what programs I've already designated to open what files.

Sure but it doesn't warn the more casual or new users that don't realize they'll brick their device by trying to reset it and forgetting their log in. I don't know if any Android devices have anything similar but I've never encountered it.

The Apple device protection is only so you have to throw out an old iPad and buy a new one if it has that ID lock. Most people arent going to know about it and you'll only find out when you try to reset a secondhand device. So if you can't connect the old owner you're SOL. I know they say it's about theft protection but it would never have been implemented if there wasn't some CEO gooning at the thought of all the e-waste they could produce.
