When I was a kid I would mispronounce words or get letters mixed up, so I started doing it intentionally as a joke to mask whenever I did it on accident. I also remember if someone else had a quirk like a stutter I'd pick it up after being around them for a while. Problem was it got to a point where I couldn't even tell the difference after a while and for a short time some of the quirks I did as a joke stuck and I had to make an effort to stop them. I still like pronouncing or spelling words wrong as a joke though. I have this deep desire to pronounce Js as Ys and if anyone calls attention to it I'd just shrug it off as some speech quirk I can't control.

I don't remember ever genuinely believing God or Santa, I don't think my parents really cared to sell me on any of that. When I tried reading the Bible I got as far as the story of Babel before thinking "this God fellow is a petty loser, even if he's real he doesn't deserve worship".

Cartoons these days are too mindless and loud, they've been infected by woke PC culture that doesn't let anything too interesting happen. The Three Caballeros, however, was back when you could make a movie about Donald Duck doing sex tourism in South America, have a scene where he literally turns into a bee and pollinates flowers with the faces of pretty ladies on them, then when there are no gals around Donald and his pals just kiss and cuddle eachother like men. Back then there was no such thing as "bisexual" or any of these other made up identities. That was just called being bros.

Republican that's really in to Care Bears and likes to draw fanart of it is a thing. Plenty of types of people are in to that too but it's just weird when it's someone's Care Bears OC talking about how abortion is bad and people shouldn't be gay.

I saw it similarly but more that the symbolism is showing that the Major is the next step of human evolution. We've been killing eachother all through out that evolutionary tree but Motoko survives by adapting and becoming something new when she merges with the AI. I think it's a transhumanist message about how technology has already changed us, that the existential threat to "humanity" isn't AI becoming too human but actual humans beings becoming so compatible with technology that they merge and evolve into something no longer human, and that that scenario might be inevitable.
