Wait is that what the Blues Brothers were referencing? When they were blocked by a bunch of demonstrating Nazis and ran them off the bridge saying "I hate Illinois Nazis". Didn't realize it was a reference
Preparing for the worst is not a bad idea. If the situation turned sour, I'd love to be in a big group of people prepared for that. But if I did show up like that, I would've been 1 of a small handful with that level of preparedness. It wouldn't have mattered. By far, the most important thing for these protests to be successful is for people to show up in huge numbers. If people feel like they need to be ready for war, they won't show up and the protest won't be as impactful. I'd rather have 10s of thousands showing up in funny costumes carrying instruments and noisemakers than a couple hundred with gas masks.
Sketcher is used as the first step for an extrusion iirc but draft is what he wants. It is just more built for 3D models to be turned into drafts rather than making a draft from scratch.
I mainly use this rear light. It comes with a bracket so you can mount it to the back of your rear rack. Then you just clip it in. I hate the rubber band lights.
I'm also quite happy with this front light. The mount stays on your bars and the light really easily clips in and out.
Borth are usb-c. Don't bother with the planet bike front lights. Maybe their nicer ones are better but the mount is ass for the cheaper ones.
FreeCAD is pretty capable but it's openly 3D focused and doesn't make for a great 2D only solution. However, for some simple work with remodeling, it might be fine.
The vid I linked to basically said that the game is ok but derivative and not that great. The main point he was making is to point out how the "controversy" around the game doesn't actually exist. It's a bunch of made up crap by grifters to make idiots foam at the mouth. And it worked. And now these idiots think Stellar Blade is the next coming of Christ and the bullwark against the woke mind virus games blah blah blah...
My 60yo dad went in the small red town he lives in. It's his first ever protest. He recently retired from teaching high school and some of his old trans students that he fought for in the school invited him. He said he'd never be able to forgive himself if he didn't go.
Reddit has a bunch of "call-and-response" sort of trigger words and phrases, along with canned responses to a situation, repeated in-jokes, etc which made a lot of the site feel bloated and samey. Definitely the comments are much sparser here but there's none of that. Anytime I Google something and check a reddit thread for answers, I'm shocked at how easily any thread can turn into some blown up debate about something stupid. In general that doesn't happen here.
On the other hand, this is a pretty leftists-only echo chamber which narrows perspective. I went to the no kings protest today. If you believe Lemmy, I should have brought thrifted clothes, a 3M respirator, milk of magnesia, a first aid kit, heat resistant gloves, etc. really what I needed was an energy drink because I got tired. Lemmy can get pretty up it's own ass about the aesthetics of revolution.
I don't think it's right to assume that people who block political online content are doing nothing. Hell, I think it's more likely that people who consume a lot of political content feel that they're doing something when they aren't.
