When I was watching the news last night, they did the thing where they said something like "COMING UP. Major news tonight involving Dolly Parton. KEEP WATCHING AFTER THE BREAK." and then those bitches went to commercial.

My heart sank because I was worried they were going to report something tragic like a terminal cancer diagnosis. Fortunately, I have access to thousands of news sources instantly so I did in fact not keep watching and instead just looked it up.

Anyway, good for her!

I'm actually surprised it's taken this long to show up in the numbers, but I am fully aware that I'm in a bit of a bubble.

Most people I know got all their big ticket spending done before January, and then hunkered down into saving money mode so that they'd have some cushion for if and when things go bad. Sure, there have been some outliers, but they aren't the norm.

Part of the problem is, even a lot of people who still have their good jobs are cutting way back and trying to put money aside because they simply do not know how much longer they'll have a job. People who once saw themselves as indispensable to their employer and have enjoyed stable careers are no longer so confident in the economy or their job because they've seen what's happened to so many others recently.

It's gay pride for bears. Bears traditionally being older, stockier/larger, and usually hairier than main stream depictions of gay men and male models, but it's actually pretty inclusive and more about male body positivity, brotherhood, and acceptance than fitting any actual physical stereotype.

Yes, but it can only be transmitted purrposely.

Mom: Honey, we have ninja turtles at home you can watch any time you want, we don't need to go see the movie.

Also, if you have pets that go outside, such as a dog you take for walks, you need to check them even if they are on flea and tick prevention. Ticks are more than glad to hitchhike indoors on pets and then later decide to rehome themselves onto a human.

Incorrect. There are MANY species of tick.

I have anecdotes, but no specific data or insights, I'm only speaking about my experience.

In some respects, politics is a lot like religion. Just like most Christians were raised in Christian families and most Muslims were raised in Muslim families, it seems like most Republicans were raised in conservative families while most Democrats were raised in liberal families. Obviously this isn't a 100% one-to-one correlation, and there's a lot of nuance as well as a plethora of exceptions.

As far as education, I only have my perspective of the school system I went to. Overall, I think that most of the teachers were very respectful and balanced whenever political ideology came up. As a kid I wouldn't have noticed it, but by my teens I was pretty observant. There were definitely several notable exceptions, mostly conservative teachers showing bias and attempting to influence us, unprompted. I think the most "liberal" ideology I was exposed to was the one high school teacher who strongly advocated for LGBT folks, but that was generally in reaction to students' homophobic actions or words. Overall, i would say that the education system pushed religious ideology more than political, but of course, it being the south, conservatism and Christianity are practically one in the same.

Lawsuits are to convictions like chocolate mousse is to catalytic converters.

I'm a white man in a rural area in the south. Black folks who don't really know me often seem surprised when they hear me say something anti-Trump. And honestly, I understand completely.

Enjoy a burger how you want, or not, I could hardly care any less as long as you're not hurting anybody with your lifestyle choice.

Personally, I just don't like cooked pineapple very much. It's a pale imitation of fresh in both taste and texture. Pure disappointment, and I've got enough disappointment in my life already, don't need anymore on my pizza or burger or tacos or spaghetti or upside down cake or colada.
