Thx for all the suggestions. Is there any mainboard which automatically unmount all other drives when you boot into an OS?

Hello there,

I have a question. If I'm doing windows linux dual boot, is there any possibiliy that windows can spy my data on linux? Or: if i got ransomwared on windows, is my linux part of my pc safe or not?

How can I prevent all above?

Yes! Everytime my UEFI (sorry previous posters: I have UEFI) set my boot order to Windows Boot manager after booting into Windows. Why is Windows so penetrant?

No, Windows still erases my linux entry and that get me on nerve. It bypass my refind boot manager and boots directly into Windows. I have to remove Windows drive to boot into refind again

Hello there,

I just want to buy a new gaming system, laptop, because I want to be mobile. There is only one game I cant give up that is league of legends. So I'm searching a manufactor, which can handle dual boot perfectly. I mean everytime I boot into windows and want to reboot into linux again, so my entry is gone (refind, systems and grub). Maybe there is a brand which separate two OS Hardware wise or has a BIOS espacially for such a case?

I have installed LMDE on my mothers Notebook and I like the feature for example mass rename and home folder encryption? What are those tools and how can I get them on Arch? Does someone has the source code?

Sidewise? Stability through front and back

[–] Fanmion@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 3 months ago

Are there no any EU alternative to those gaming hardware company? If we start now making GPU and CPU from scratch, how far behind are we?

Hi folks,

I would like to build a streaming pc. It should be a streaming PC on which you stream 1080p content via twitch without a camera. Beside this it should record gameplay (1080p) and do video editing (1080p). I already have a PC for the games. The question is, can I realize my project with an AMD APU (AV1 hardware encoding)? Are there already AMD APUs that support AV1? If so, can you recommend one? I would like to do without a GPU, as the PC should be as small as possible for space reasons and I am thinking of a Mini-ITX build. I don't want to run 4k content now or in the near future.

Thanks for your advice.
