I remember that Lenin story about him sending university students to help farmers by shooting their kulaks. I wont see the end of capitalism in my lifetime but I can't imagine the jubilation of having true political power over these parasites.

My first job was working under a Chilean cook who was the most joyless, bitter and angry person I had ever met. I used to end my shifts with music and one day, I was listening to some Carlos Puebla (the main musician of the Cuban revolution) and it caught his ear. He came up and asked "do you know who is Camilo" (because the song was named Canto a Camilo). I said yes of course. He then started opening up to me. He told me he was in a HARD LEFT revolutionary group when Pinochet started cracking down. He lost most of his friends and family, they were murdered or disappeared by the state. Before I thought of him as just a regular asshole but holy crap did his story put things in perspective. My cute little soft leftie ass couldn't even conceive of a true revolutionary like that.
We have historical ties to Cuba through the Fairplay for Cuba Committee and many aid orgs that send critical supplies over there. Chartrand was one of the first North Americans to go to Chile after the coup and there's a video of him giving a speech to a stadium and besides him is Allende's widow. We have had a huge influx of Chilean people since then, and our student unions have strong, durable contacts with them: they vocally supported us in the 2012 protests.
The LGBTQ+ community is huge in Montreal. The pride parade is nothing more than a corporate entity sponsored by banks and whatnot, but there's a whole ass street that's blocked in the summers to allow pedestrians to go through and it's filled with pride-trans flags. People can walk around holding hands and there are many gay bars, clubs, saunas etc. Plus, almost every mutual aid group, community gatherings or grassroots organization are inclusive and have policies against fascists and hate-based behaviors.
Quebec is the most leftist province in Canada. We have the highest unionization rate in the whole country, paid leaves for pregnant mothers, social security, etc. We fought hard for it, I suggest reading about Michel Chartrand, syndicalist and hero of the Quebecois people.
The US is as irredeemable as nazi germany in 1944. It needs to be invaded, dismantled and put under international tutelage for at least a hundred years. A lot of those people are too far gone and need to be erased, it takes time but we can easily make new humans that aren't grown into fascist incubators.
