for some people having an extremely LGBTQ positive space where sexual content is opt-in is like drinking the most refreshing glass of water you'll ever experience.
Seconding this, I much prefer this type of stuff being opt in

I think it's just their internal rationalization for why it's okay to misgender people they disagree with, and then if you ask them to stop that's just more evidence for them that you're trolling. 
yeah they hate it when you point out that whoever is crying about being banned for their two minutes hate was just being racist/homophobic/misogynistic
