Not sure if this is rulebreaking tho, its RE4.

Yea something is different now, DirectX did manage to install, but game doesnt work.

Used the wine-staging to install alk of the _redist .exe files again, tried to run the game using wine-10.8-staging-x86_64, doesn't work, tried Proton Experimental again, and it did have a game crash dialogue box.

I haven't used a PC in the last 5 years so piracy skills go a little rusty, and I've always done it on windows, never on linux

I downloaded a "pre-installed" version from one of the sites on the megathread here, then I added each of the _redist ".exe"s to lutris, intalled all of them except the dxwebinstaller that didn't work, tried to run the game on lutris using Proton Experimental again and it failed.

Honestly fuck microsoft too for creating the windows monopoly.

In fact, most people don't really have a desktop/laptop computer anymore, its just their one smartphone

I have a phone that has an OLED type display and has a high contrast ratio and HDR. I don't wanna spend "flagship phone" amount of money on a tablet, so I was wondering if a cheap tablet would improve viewing experience because of the bigger screen or would it be worse since its LCD and low contrast ratio. By "videos" I mean mostly for Youtube, but sometimes TV Shows, and occasionally movies.

(And no I don't want something like a TV, too big, too much hassle for casually watching videos)

(P.S. I notice a lot of reddit threads get very judgy and poor-shaming when people mention "movie" and "phone"/"tablet" in the same sentence... 👀)

Inspired by another question on this community about "the first time you drank alcohol", so I was just feeling like I'm the odd one out here.

I personally have never smoked (neither tobacco nor weed), never drank any alcohol. (Parents also don't do smoking, or drinking, or gambling so I kinda got lucky with the environment I grew up in, I guess...) Is that unusual? Gen Z btw.

I don't have a spare room to make a soundproof "home theater" (and making such a room would require you to be like extremely rich to even fund that renovation) so what's the cheapest movie viewing experience you can conceivably get at home that's good enough? (I hate the idea of movie theaters, so please don't tell me to go to one lol, I hate being around people)

Preferrably no TVs because that would be very hard to take with me if I have to move in the future (its too fragile and too big and a huge hassle to deal with). So I'm thinking like some projectors or something like that.

Because my main viewing screen right now is just my phone and Christopher Nolan would be disappointed if he found out lol. (Don't judge lol, the last time I actually used an actual PC was like few years ago, I no longer have a functional computer right now, because I haven't found the need to replace the broken one, since phones do a lot nowadays)

I'm thinking like a budget of $1000 or less (the cheaper the better, but not like too low quality either).

(P.S. I don't actually have that budget to get that immediately, but I'm just planning for something to look forward to in the future.)
