I was going to say I still think PS2 is the cutoff. PS2/GC/XBOX have an Atari 2600 emulation collection released for them. If a console is trying to show a new generation a collection of older games it seems like a line has been passed. But then I remembered that Sega Saturn had those Konami MSX collections, so maybe you're right about gen 5/N64 being the retro cut off.

You can pause updates longer than that by just mashing the 'pause update' icon thing over and over and it stacks up to like a month or 2 or something.

I spent so much time worried about the removed I didn't even consider that my biggest enemy was actually the manmen, cannibal eaters of man.

Canadians are fucking morons, yes. We have like 3 media monopolies that dominate all political thought for 99.9% of the population.

I agree OP should not be a lame-ass and just say they should CW Destiny themselves rather than trying to bury it in "he should Spike TV himself" talk.

I don't get why the mods let Destiny post here.

Is she going to be offended that she's not #1 on my kill list though?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Datin' this new chick and things are getting pretty serious. I've even been considering showing her my kill list, but I don't want to move things too quickly if she's not OK with it. How do I know if she's ready for it?

A fellow warrior on here . . .

I have gotten neither of these.

Oh never mind. I found some videos of Chinese women carrying hundreds of pounds of logs on their backs. Watching that instead.

Every time I hear someone talk about life when a modicum of COVID concern existed in western countries it's basically them saying they're scared of coughing in public, not because they're scared of spreading COVID but because they don't want people to think they have COVID. It seems like the idea they might have COVID doesn't even enter the picture, at least initially. As well as other similar examples of their self-orientated lives.

Obviously most people dropping the masks as soon as possible as well as refusing to learn how to use them (or even what kind of masks in the first place) reveal this a bit as well. It seems, to me in my small social world at least, that the people around me literally only cared about themselves during the pandemic and how awkward it was for them. My existence isn't inside a particularly great slice of humanity though.

Even in left-ish spaces you see maybe a vocal minority of people who care, like some people on here, doing anti-COVID acts as part of a larger understanding of the world: either out of empathy or at least a greater self-interest in seeing society not crumble. But everyone else is basically only doing "good" so far as everyone else forces or allows them to.

Again, my world is pretty small but getting really tired of hearing saying "during COVID" in pass-tense around/to me as I wear a fucking mask in front of them. Haven't heard of any great empathy from people broadly. And the shallow bloomer excuses don't really convince me otherwise.

Tara Moriarty, a University of Toronto infectious disease expert and co-founder of COVID 19 Resources Canada, recently tallied the imperfect data, and it is bracing. She calculates that about one in every 23 Canadians is now infected with COVID. We are not at the low point of the pandemic in Canada. To the contrary, compared with a previous time during the pandemic, infections are 25 times higher and the rate of long COVID is 19 times higher. Meanwhile the hospitalization rate is 13 times higher and deaths are 25 times higher.

In the middle of October, Moriarty calculated that COVID patients occupied about nine per cent of intensive care beds and 21 per cent of hospital beds across the country. (The average hospitalization rate during the pandemic has been seven per cent.) The estimated cost of this sustained viral assault is $274 million a week.

Reading stuff like this seriously makes me consider disappearing from this world. We're so fucked. And nobody cares.

It's called Intellectual Property. And it's the basis of our society. Maybe show it a little respect.

Don't disappoint me like they do.

Oh no. (hexbear.net)

Tried playing video games but the mentally-sensitive artists of our age of downfall have all subconsciously put spider enemies in all of our games. Plus they're really annoying to fight.

Not falling for it.
