I've been replaying that shit like five times just to try to remember what it feels like to have emotions other than quiet despair

I reread letter from a Birmingham jail the other day and for a brief, wonderful moment I thought that one line about Hungarian freedom fighters doing the right thing despite it not being legal was MLK Jr formally endorsing tankies

On the other hand, living here in rejected British religious extremist colony, I really wish my ancestors had been petty criminals instead of calvinists or whatever

My personal jihad against Wikipedia can be summarized by the fact that every single one of the wikipedia pages I specifically bookmarked over the course of my doctoral program for containing huge amounts of specific scientific data otherwise not available unless you want to buy a few hundred scientific papers (this was pre scihub) have now been merged with giant vague general introductory articles on the topic seemingly written for the children of liberals on their first day of school. I mean fuck man, most of those molecular biology pages were written by the scientists that discovered the shit. Fuck those guys, I guess

All that shit is just gone like it never existed, and this cicjsucjer keeps asking me for money ! which I used to happily donate, but no, now he wants to do another bullshit vanity project of idk scanning all art ever into VR or whatever the fuck, instead of spending two cents a month on the server space it would have taken to keep those fucking expert level pages on their own, but because your loser ass wikiexperts dropped out of middle school in order to homeschool themselves at the university of hentai they can't tell the difference

In the people's republic of Northern Illinois the penalty for attempting to feed school kids a free breakfast is state sanctioned murder

Everything about the story reminds me of how the original version of the little mermaid takes pains to specify every step Ariel takes on land to her feels like she is walking on broken glass.

But one of the pieces of glass that sticks in my metaphorical foot is the middle class kid, O'Neal, I originally assumed must have been an undercover police officer that sold Huey down the river and drugged him. Every few years I'll pull up some Malcolm speeches or even King and I cannot imagine living around any of that and having none of it soak in on some level. It is easy to hate him for the unspeakable crime he committed, sure. And I would find it impossible to not do so.

You just read the interview with him and it's so sad how much he must have suffered before he eventually killed himself, slowly understanding just how bad the result of just doing what the FBI told him to do to avoid getting charged with whatever dumb petty crime they swept him up in was.

Shakespeare ain't got shit on the tragedy of modernity

Pain and suffering are always inevitable for a large intelligence and a deep heart. The really great men must, I think, have great sadness on earth.

Dostoyevsky

"The world they built is so nakedly self destructive, so very objectively harmful even they are starting to feel the pain, but the mild, passing discomfort in admitting fault for the first time in their entire life would literally be the worst thing that has ever happened to them, so of course going down with the ship is a far more reasonable course of action than allowing another captain to step in and possibly steer away from the iceberg."

Just one man's opinion. I'm fascinated by them, really. I deal with boomers all day ever day, I feel compassion of course but I cannot help but privately wonder how none of them ever realize they did all of this to themselves, in a thousand different ways, all day every day their entire life, it all has led to this, as inevitably as the river meeting the sea.

I'm not like, an advocate for organized religion or anything but their enthusiasm for rejecting any and all belief systems in favor of the all encompassing infatuation that entire generation manages to have with themselves is just an endless wellspring of neverending trauma for everyone else forced to live around them.

Cannot believe you people would go to all of the trouble of indoor plumbing and stop literally right at the bidet installation point and say, no further
